Re: scrunched UI
Hi wclass, can you tell me where the Windows display setting is? I don't see a percentage setting at Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\Screen Resolution. Thanks!

Re: scrunched UI
Hi Rob,
The screen resolution is 1920x1080, just like my screen. We have the same size screens, but the issue does not appear on my screen. We tried lowering her screen's resolution to 1600x900 and to 1280x720, but neither setting improved the scrunched-ness of the UI.

scrunched UI
Hi, we have a new writer on the team who is currently using the trial version of Flare 11. She's seeing a very scrunched UI in Flare. The XML Editor and dialog boxes accessed in Flare have tiny line heights. Underline looks like strike-through. We've looked at font scaling and other settings to no ...

Hi MaryBethP,
Thanks for your instructions. I see "Subscribe Via E-mail" but not "Subscribe to All" - any idea what I did wrong? I am an admin. Screenshot below shows what I see after clicking Find Systems and then clicking the system with topics that I want to follow.

Pulse notifications by comment
Hi, cross-posting as it seems no one is browsing the Pulse area. I would like to automatically get notifications of every comment made via Pulse on our Flare help. How do I set this up? (I am now an admin, if that helps.) Thanks!

Hi, I would like to go to my Pulse dashboard and see a list of every comment made on the Flare help. How can I set that up? Do I need to be admin? Thanks!

Thanks, McGarrett! I confirmed that the errors disappear if I remove height: auto; from the img tag in the CSS.

Warning 20010: Failed to copy and resize image: [path to image]: Parameter is not valid.
I'm seeing this error as well, for multiple .png images. I tried saving a local copy of one of the offending images as .bmp (NOT checked into source control) and inserting the image into a topic, then ...

Re: making <td> equivalent to <p>
Thanks, kwag_myers! I just realized that setting styles as "p, td" removes the issue of CSS maintenance. Nice!

Re: making <td> equivalent to <p>
Thanks, kwag_myers. We're wanting to reduce CSS maintenance overhead because if (more like when) the generic p tag changes we'll need to remember to update the p, td complex selector. Other ideas for a CSS in flux?

Re: making <td> equivalent to <p>
Thank you, emsachs! Although I was looking for an automated method, this is news to me that I can apply <p> tags to all cells in the table using Cell Content Style.

making <td> equivalent to <p>
Other than manually setting a <td> style using the same definitions as <p>, is there a way to make all table cells look the same space-wise, regardless of whether <p> is included or not within various table cells? Thanks!

list item variable indents in PDF
PDF output indents list items strangely. If a list item has a <p> tag underneath, then it has the expected spacing between the number and the text. Otherwise it has very little space (indent) between the number and the text. I tried WebHelp output to see the difference - in WebHelp, indentation is ...

Following is the feedback from Tech Support at MadCap.
Flare does not actually output a *.docx file type. When changing the output file name, Flare essentially just changes the file extension to *.docx. This is the intended functionality.

.docx output to support multiple reviewers
I learned that a Flare-produced Word document shared on a SharePoint list does not support multiple reviewers at once. The Word document has to be resaved as .docx.
I thought maybe if I tampered with the Output File setting in my target then the problem would be solved. Nope. I still get the old ...

Thanks, Lisa. Yes, I've confirmed that the condition tag is marked for exclusion in the target file used to generate the HTML5 output.

Thanks, kwag_myers. The .h files are not explicitly included in the topics. Note: The .h files are in Project Organizer under the Advanced folder. Eager for more suggestions. Best, Pamela

Re: cannot exclude header files from html5 outputs
Yes, I'm trying to exclude some header files from the HTML5 output. I applied the conditional tag to the file. The file itself simply lists several #DEFINE lines of code. No body tags to speak of. Thanks!

Re: cannot exclude header files from html5 outputs
Hi kwag_myers,
The header files don't have body tags. They are dot-h files, that is, files with the extension .h.
Thanks anyway!

cannot exclude header files from html5 outputs
*Edited: meant header files, not alias files*
We have multiple header files and we'd like to exclude some from an HTML5 output. We applied a conditional text tag to the header files to be excluded, and then marked up the output to exclude that tag. However, the tagged header files are included in ...
