Shading individual LI’s in a UL
When I want to enclose one or more paragraphs in a tint box, I normally use a DIV, which uses padding to have the tint at the left and right margins, but bringing the text a few pixels in on either side.
What I’d like to do now, is to apply a tint box to specific items within an unordered list ...

Re: IE browser version requirements
I may not be making myself clear; it's not what Windows server version is compatible with IE11, it's what versions of Madcap Flare are compatible with IE11.
What I'm worried about, is generating HTML5 sites from Flare, which won't function correctly in IE11.

Top Nav skin overridden by heading style
I've changed the font size and style of size of h3, and am finding the change is also carried over to Search Results Links on a published site, even though the change is not showing in the skin editor (and therefore I can't fix it. Has anyone seen this?

Re: A simple question about topnav menu depth
Thank you! I had been scouring the menu settings on the Styles tab all day, and all the documentation about it - I didn't think one of the settings about how the menus look would be bizarrely moved away from all the others onto a different tab

Re: PDF- Page Break
By which I mean, I was expecting that if I put "page-break-before:avoid" on an IMG or P tag, and the normal flow would put it at the top of the page, then the previous paragraph would be dragged along with it to the next page and put at the top of it, above the P or IMG with the "page-break-before ...

Re: PDF- Page Break
I'm finding that "page-break-before:avoid" on the img tab in my main stylesheet isn't stopping screenshots from being at the top of the page detached from their introductory paragraph. And nor does it work if I put it as an inline style in the IMG tag, or on the IMG's containing P tag.

IMG styles cascading to thumbnails
I went with the Flare Styles Guide suggestion of defining a class of the IMG tag for showing screenshots as thumbnails. The default behaviour is to add a blue border, which is good for indicating the thumbnail is clickable.

Re: pound sign in link file path causes Word to choke and 40
My source for the '#' problem is this confirmation from Microsoft.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/202261
For what it's worth, Excel 2013 has a new 'encodeURL' function, which will allow you to wrap a URL containing a #, such that it will work.
There's also a lot of discussion on:

Re: pound sign in link file path causes Word to choke and 40
As I understand it, that's a limitation of Word hyperlinks. Try replacing '#' with 'content/' in the link (so that it goes to the topic file's actual location in the folder tree) and make sure that the skin has 'Show navigation link at top of topic' in the Setup selected, so that the user has a way ...

Linking to specific Excel tab
Microsoft ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/197922 ) say the criteria to make destinations within an excel file work are that the link to the Excel file must be http: not file:, and that the file must open within the browser. With that in mind, I've made the link:

Re: Help finding error in a CSH call
Unfortunately my colleague got his copy of Flare post-v11, so we have only one copy that can create CSH.
It may only be a tiny fault in the output .js file, but effectively it takes CSH using HTML5 (i.e. the main medium now that CHM is deprecated) off the list of what Flare can output, and that's a ...

Re: Help finding error in a CSH call
Thank you - I've found that the problem goes away if I open the project in an old v10 copy and rebuild. So it looks like it stopped working during a product update, rather than from something I did, so I have taken your advice and contacted Support.

Re: Help finding error in a CSH call

Help finding error in a CSH call
I am having trouble diagnosing something which is going wrong with a demo of HTML5 CSH I’m trying to do. I have two skins ‘KBSkin’ the default, and ‘KBSkin_CSH’, which differs in that it sets the window size and position, and turns the navigation pane off.
