Problem with import of Word Files

Hi,
I am experiencing that import of Word files in Office 2010 does not work as expected: in the resulting project an HTML 5 output with Tripane navigation resp. Top Navigation with the toc at a side shows all topics in its TOC, but links from the toc to a topic which uses special characters like ...

Re: Relative paths in Word to linked files

Hi,

I believe that the advice given in D2H's documentation (see especially step 8 in
http://help.madcapsoftware.com/d2h4/Con ... t=pictures )
resolves your original problem, means moving a project to another colleague should work with it.

Re: Relative paths in Word to linked files

Hi,
this is a Word problem. I found the following link with a solution I never tested:
http://superuser.com/questions/622460/u ... -word-2013

PLEASE let us know whether this helps. I don't know how reliable this source is.
You may find more in the internet.

Re: D2H-RibbonBar

Hi,

the dialog "templates and addins" in Word has a checkbox below the field where you change a document's template (see attached screenshot). THIS must be UNCHECKED. Actually, I remember situations when this checkbox seemed to ignored. You may also modify the D2H template to fit your needs.
Still ...

Re: D2H-RibbonBar

Hi Ms. Schiele,

you miss D2H Ribbon in your Source documents, don't you?
To get the D2H Ribbon you need to associate your source file(s) with a template that is based upon one of D2H's source file templates, one that belongs to your D2H version. This applies to all D2H versions before V4 (current ...

Re: Importing HTML5 project?

Hi,

I am not a Flare specialist, and I do not know asciidoc. If asciidoc exports a TOC in a seperate file, it might be possible to transform it into an xml file .fltoc that will be accepted in your Flare project.
MadCap Flare has a 194 pages "Table of Contents Guide" which might help you to find ...

Re: Combine all topics into one?

Hi,

I suggest to create a pdf with Flare. Then add a link to it in all topics, probably by inserting the link into a masterpage, and use this masterpage for your online-target.

Hi Lisa,

Flare supports MadCap Central beginning with version 2016r2 which installs as version 13. You may need an upgrade.

Re: D2H hangs on "Processing Document Comments"

Hi Stuart,

When D2H needs some time on "Processing Document Comments" this may be caused by comments entered by itself, maybe in an older version.
If your document was created several years ago, it may contain comments for links. If you remove such links and re-enter them with D2H 4 you will reduce ...

Re: how do i make glossary terms show in search results

Hi,

I am not a Flare expert, and I haven't tried myself what I assume:
I would expect that adding "What" and "is" to Flares stop word list should help, at least when search is not entered with quotes.
Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

Hi,
I suggest to use D2H function Convert .doc to .docx (for details you may read

Just to add the answer I got from MadCap.

Version 2017 is an update or upgrade of 2016r2. While 2016r2 was installed as V13, version 2017 is V13.1

Hi,

Nita, DocToHelp now allows only one version installed on a machine. I suggest to use another machine for evaluation, if you are not sure whether you have to return to a former version, especially if the former version is not from MadCap. This is not the case of Lisa Schiele, since she already ...

Hi Sepp,

I suggest to take a close look at formatting in your Word output as well as in your source files and add resp. modify those styles in your target template that are not ok, especially those that D2H created.
Actually, I am not sure whether this helps. It's a while ago that I worked with xml ...

Re: Centralizing Responsive Themes, Minimzing size.

Hi,

Actually, I don't assume it's wise to move the js-folder*. It is necessary for a lot of project specific links, e.g. to create the links to "next" or "previous" page, at runtime.
If you want to move the themefolder and the css folder you may need to find alle links that ARE in the js folder ...

Hello,

as far as I know, you need to copy your pdf into your projects content folder, and link it to an item in your TOC.

Hi,

when you click at the button right next to the url you may get the dialog named Insert Image (see attached screenshot). At the bottom of this dialog are "..." which leads you to Windows File menu. So, you can navigate to your logo.
