Hi Sepp,
DocToHelp uses the first topic it founds in the contents as first page of the target. You may use the topics pane to mark an arbitrary topic as "Default" topic.

Hi LenaLo,
are you able to open and compile the sample projects that come with V4?
What paragraph names are shown in your project for Heading 1, Heading 2,...?? (See project tab, paragraph styles. They are usually locked)

Hi,
DocToHelp "knows" to types of variables:
a) Pure Text Variables (= text without formatting)
b) Rich Content Variables (= formatted content of arbitrary length)
While type "a" is stored in a project, type "b" is stored in Word documents and can be shared between different projects.

Hi Alfred,
So, the issue with German umlaute in HTML 5 is caused by Flare 9, isn't it? I suggest to make a test with Flare 12 as soon as possible, for your parts as well as those that belong to the external software components.
Kind regards,
Sabine Kamprowski

Hi,
I tested it with FireFox 46 and the two HTML5 results I have published with Flare 12, could not reproduce your issue. Maybe, it's caused by your newer FireFox version or it's caused by your Flare version. You can figure it out via the links from

Hi,
maybe, my last reply was not clear enough.
When you have a TOC that contains all topics you want to appear, mark the topic that should be your "landing page" as Default Topic.
Your Topic window then should show the mark as in my screenshot. Another compilation is then necessary.

Hi Adsy,
the error code comes from Windows and it does not help. Best is to take a look into your variables!
If you have more than one Rich Content variable files it may help to copy all their contents into an Excell sheet, and sort them by first column.
Kind regards,
Sabine Kamprowski
