Hi Ken, hi Nita,
D2H is supposed to work in Win 7 environments beginning with D2H 2009 V3. Release 480 belongs to D2H 2009 V2 while Release 500 belongs to D2H 2009 V3. Ken, you may remember that C1 used to roll out several major releases for D2H with keys that changed three times a year.
I don't ...

Hi,
I am sorry to say that your D2H installation seems to be not complete*. Please take a look at your Word addins. It ought to show c1d2h_author.dot and c1d2h_engine.dot. I attach a screenshot with my global addins. Let us know, please, when your Word addins don't show them.

Ok, that makes it bit clearer.
So, I now suggest to work with this Team Authoring tab. You may see what files have been checked out and continue your work with documents checked out, or check out other documents for changes.

Hi Adsy,
Does the same error occur when you start a new project, created by new project wizard with default settings for a new Worddocument??
The reason why I want to know this: the issue might be in your environment (Word and its global add-ins) or your source file, or in your D2H project.

Hi,
the reason why you do not have D2H ribbon(s) in Word may be caused by the template that is assigned to it.
So, check this first, please.

Hi,
creating styles in Word may not be necessary. I prefer to use D2H's built in list styles, e.g. c1h-bullet.
The problem is that D2H does not handle current Word's list features well when creating html output.

Hi Adsy,
are you sure that the c1d2H global addins in your Word Startup folder belong to your current D2H version and that THEY are responsible for Word's fatal error??

Hi Bettina,
in your target settings, Language section you may add links to projects that create different languages.
Be aware, please, that there are some restrictions in working with these linke projects.

Hi,
Since Flare works with an internal html editor, I suggest to start with html files, created by Help Console.
I assume that this is the easier way.
I experienced some troubles when I did my first steps with Flare (about 2 years ago) starting with Word documents.
Kind regards,
Sabine Kamprowski

Hi Adsy,
yes, most of the staff D2H needs in Word is in those two Global Addins.
Perhaps your Word startup-folder does not contain the current author.- and engine.dot files.
This might happen when you had an older D2H version installed on the same machine.

Hi Lino,
the issue you report might be caused by your import settings for your Word document(s):
Immediately after you entered your document(s) Flare analyzes them and asks you to fill in the "New Topic Styles".
The result may be seen in your target(s) or in project organizer's TOC section.
