Re: CHM: Replace http links by file links?

Hi,

Chm files cannot contain links to files outside the chm, unless they use http-protocol. This is a restriction from Microsoft html help.
For this, DocToHelp has the Media Folder which is completely copied into all results.

So, make sure that all your files that are called are in the media ...

Re: Dealing with multilanguage output

Hi Ubru,

First I suggest not to send a target or output to translator but a copy of your source files, for several reasons. They depend on what you want to achieve with DocToHelp besides a manual.
Further suggestions:
1. start a new project with translated docs, based upon your original project.

Re: Fatal Word error: Could not apply the style

Hi Sjouke,

have you installed Microsoft Patches?
Then I would first try an almost empty project with the contents provided by MadCap and the original templates from MadCap, locally, not on any server.
Does this create a Manual?

Hi,

if you see undefined styles e.g. p.C1Hbullet or span.D2HNogloss in Analyzer you may delete them. This will remove them from the files that they used them.

Re: Newbie question: applying style and theme

Hi,

I suggest to
1. add a stylesheet to the project that has all styles necessary in your Flare Project, e.g. modern.css from Factory Templates (see first screenshot, context menus).
2. make this stylesheet project default css (see Project, Project properties, second screenshot).

And read the pdf ...

Hi,

I would create a pdf in the Flare Project which contains only those parts that you want, then create a link in all chapters that should show this pdf. Maybe a masterpage for Sandwiches could make it easier.

Re: Would I be better off using Flare for SEO?

Hi,

I suggest to cure these issues with D2H-methods, e.g. add something to every header (use the function XML-Transformation in Help Target Dialog, see 1.png to create appropriate text in header area, for description and keywords) I don't know whether it helps, but give it a try.
The "alt" issues ...

Re: Can We link a Page to External Website

Hello,

yes, it is possible, at least with Tripane Skin in Flare 2019. Here is how to manage it:
1. in Flare open Insert, Hyperlink
2. for Link to choose Website:
3. below, for Target Frame choose Same Frame.

This works (partially) as you want it, I tested it with Tripane Skin.

Hi Chainware,

DocToHelp V5 has had 2 minor updates, last one is release 1521. It's not very far away from 1518

I hope for a new major release, like you, at least for continued support for upcoming Word versions.
