I can see a lot of uses for ePub output in our company.

However, I cannot set the generated TOC to exclude the h2 and h3 headings. I created a TOC that contains h1 level headings only but the ePub TOC displays all headings from every topic. It doesn't seem to matter how I set options.

Any ideas?

I've asked for this as well. I have a large TOC and being able to sort (or, more accurately, save) the alphabetical order would have saved me a lot of time. I can't figure out any way to do it.

I have seen this too, with HTML5 target generation. It's identical to a problem I was having with the mobile help target last year. I'm surprised it's not fixed yet because it was filed as a bug (report number 45261).

I'm a bit biased, but I think the biggest bottleneck is the memory. As long as the version of .net stays where it is, Flare is stuck being a 32-bit application and can only use 2 GB of RAM. That simply isn't enough for some of the mega projects folks here (myself included ...

Lisa: Yes, I thought about that too but, although I'm not too familiar with Map IDs, it's probably not viable in the short term (this project is about 5000 topics). Might be a better solution in the long run.

This is a bit hard to explain, but here goes.

I'm generating WebHelp and want to be able to link to individual topics, but still display the navigation pane on the left. Currently, the URL displays only something like this, no matter where you click in the TOC:

http://web.com/html/ProjectName ...

I'm just now getting back to this topic after we decided not to use mobile output for our last release. Madcap Support quickly traced it to empty style property. (I can safely say I never would have figured it out.)

Open the stylesheet in a text editor. If a line in the stylesheet says

UPDATE: I recompiled my batch targets this morning after Madcap Support contacted me about the bug submission. Of course, everything now works as it should: my window retains the set size and the unwanted tabs (e.g., Glossary/Index) are no longer appearing.

I'm just noticing this now also. When I compile HTML help as part of a batch compile, the window is tiny and appears in the opposite corner of the screen.

Edit: The batch compile also ignores other preferences, like buttons.

Open the topic in the Text editor and located the X-Ref. Does it still point to the old topic or the newly renamed one?

I renamed a lot of files in the content explorer. For each renamed file, I clicked the "Update Links" button in the link update dialog.

When I regenerated the project, hyperlinks were resolved to the new filenames but the cross-references were not. These are all internal links.

It's worth a try. I've tried multiple TOCs for one output and it works quite well. You can create many TOCs and one main one, and then just drag a TOC into the main one at the right place - and to the final output it looks like just one TOC. For what it's worth, I like this method when I have ...
