Re: Source control for single author
I suggest doing both, use source control and grab plain file backups of the projects and keep backups of the source control repository. Might sound a bit paranoid, but after experiencing major hardware failure once you will be very happy that you kept enough copies to get back to work within a ...

Re: Rename .htm to .html
I'm bumping this thread since I'm in the same situation as TeSol . In other words, the developers need a compiled help file (.CHM) and they link their help buttons to HTML page names and not map IDs or aliases. I was just wondering if anyone has found a simpler way other than renaming the files ...

Re: Glossary Term Footnotes
I am hoping I am just missing something, as it would be really nice if I could just get these terms to convert to text in a PDF.
I would like this as well.
In addition, I another issue with glossary terms in PDF and Word outputs. When I select "Convert first occurrence of term" in the "Glossary ...

Re: Can you capture the mouse pointer in Capture 7?
Thanks atomdocs!
I keep forgetting about that tiny Options button in the File menu. I sure wish MadCap would make it more prominent in Flare and Capture. (For example, moving it to the left panel of the File menu and giving it a large icon.)

Can you capture the mouse pointer in Capture 7?
Hi,
I've been trying to find if you can capture the mouse pointer like you can in SnagIt in Capture 7. I've looked through the docs but I couldn't find anything. :( I searched through the forums and found the following thread:
https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10307

Re: Solution for printing an HTML5 topic from IE8?
Dave Lee: Your tip on adding a new toolbar button and assigning the topic.focus(); topic.print(); event worked great! Thank you so much!
Works for me in Firefox, but not in Chrome. In Chrome the button does nothing.

Re: Linking to PDF files
I've done this for my WebHelp projects by creating a PDF folder in the Content Explorer of Flare. Then I opened the folder in Windows and put the necessary PDFs in the folder, and then linked them to my project. The PDFs become part of the output folder contents, and can be published like any of ...

Re: inserting code blocks into a topic
Sorry for the necromancy but I’ve been searching for instructions about how to simulate code in Flare for days. I tried searching for “MadCap Flare computer code style†and similar strings both here and on Google but nothing relevant turned up. It wasn’t until I tried “MadCap Flare pre ...
