Re: Defining the font for the Search.htm file

You should be able to create your own search results page that includes the links to your font files instead of the default on that Flare generates when building a target. This MadCap blog article runs you through the process of creating your own:

Re: Easy Select Condition Asset Now Missing

The Conditions tag displays conditions within the text of your file, and colors them if you have assigned a color to your conditions. I think you are talking about the Span Structure Bars tag. This setting displays the bars along the top of the file that you can use to select text marked with ...

Re: Is it possible to set a div to always contain a particular paragraph style?

It certainly is possible. This was previously answered here: viewtopic.php?t=29647. Here is their example using H1 followed by a p tag with the class "together":

Code: Select all

h1{
	mc-next-tag: p;
	mc-next-class: together;
}

Re: Replace class across project

You were on the right track with Find/Replace. Go to the Find Elements tab, select Class in the Find drop-down. Then select Replace Class in the Replace/Action drop-down and then type 'button' in the first box and "TFbutton" in the second. If required, specify where you want to replace the class ...

Re: Unwanted Navigation Panel Inside the iFrame in the HTML Output

We were able to hide those elements using a small script and some CSS.
The script just adds a class to the <body> tag of the page in the iFrame:
$(function () {
if (window.self != window.top) {
$(document.body).addClass("in-iframe");
}
});
Then the CSS hides elements. You'll likely just have to ...

Re: Searching the text editor while in split screen mode

Hi
I reported this over 2 years ago and Flare support acknowledged the issue, but it still hasn't been fixed.
The workaround was to not use split screen. The search does work if you don't, but obviously that isn't always ideal.
Cheers

We use a few different scripts. Some turn up in each topic, others are used for specific topics.

Re: YouTube videos without Share button, or best way to get captions on videos

Good luck. :) If this doesn't work for you, I'd recommend using Vimeo over YouTube because it doesn't have the Share button you want to avoid provided you use a setting other than Public for your video. This should work in your use case. If you use Vimeo, you can upload the SRT file too. This would ...

Re: YouTube videos without Share button, or best way to get captions on videos

The subtitle file (as in NorthWest's example) is the VTT file referenced in the <track> element. We save our subtitle files in the same folder as our videos in the Flare project, so you just need to make sure the link points to the file. If you ever needed translations of your captions, they would ...

Re: URL to Madcap, on a default HTML5 template

Hi Henk,
That is controlled by a setting on the target. On to the Advanced tab, clear the Powered by MadCap Software option.
Cheers,

Re: Image optimisation software (batch) recommendations?

My team uses a great tool for PNG files called PNGGauntlet (https://pnggauntlet.com/). It handles batch optimization really well. It will also convert other formats to PNG.

Re: Popup doesn't pop up

I've detailed a workaround (riffing on some other people's work) at https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20925#p125228 . It involves adding some JavaScript and replacing target="_popup" on the <a> tag with a MadCap class:

Re: FontAwesome Icons for Next and Previous Topic Buttons

I actually got this working without having to resort to the snippet. I had to make the change because I wanted to move the links to my FontAwesome and LineAwesome stylesheets to my master page so the styles didn't clog up my Styles Pane (as per https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t ...

Re: FontAwesome Icons for Next and Previous Topic Buttons

I created my own toolbar that I added to a snippet. This snippet is then added to my master page. I'm sure it is possible to use a topic toolbar skin and CSS to do the same, but this seemed like a lot less hassle. Here is the code for the snippet:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

Re: Topic pop-ups and the TopNav skin

I've found a way to get pop-ups working in a TopNav output using a small Javascript file referenced in the TopNav skin's master page, a variation on jsandora's CSS, and BedfordWriter's <a> tag update. The script works by checking to see if the page is the parent, and if not applies a class to the ...
