Elements show in note output in Word
My notes look like this in word:
{b}{color #135296}Note: {/color}{/b} Text text text text
Notes appear as they should in PDF output.
I copied 'mc-auto-number-format: '{b}{color #135296}Note: {/color}{/b}' into the print section, but the output looked the same (no fix).

Thanks, Leslie. I has been using SourceTree in Flare 11, but I abandoned it when Flare 12 supported SSH.

Re: Deleting variables .. then finding the undefined variabl
Thanks dcisneros. Every user tip is appreciated, and your solution will be one more thing for me to examine to clear up my errors.
As for finding/replacing undefined (post deleted) variables, searching in source code crashes Flare every single time.

Is it normal for switching branches to take 5+ minutes?
(I run Flare on a Windows VM (OS X host.)
Most Flare operations work very quickly in my environment, but switching between master and branches can take five minutes or more. This really slows me down when I am resolving a customer-reported bug for in-market doc.

Deleting variables .. then finding the undefined variables
The Madcap Flare 12 Deleting Variables topic makes the task dangerously simple. When I followed the instructions, I expected Flare to prompt me to convert all instances of the target variable to plain text.
It did not. Instead, the topic had a new (Undefined variable: VariableName) variable where ...

Adding white-space: pre-wrap to pre has no effect on Chrome
I'm trying to get preformatted (code) output to wrap. Often I'll just force a soft return, but in this case, I want readers to be able to copy and paste a line of code where breaks would mess things up for them.
Here's my pre style

Re: "Bookmarks" suddenly appears in PDF bookmark frame
After poking around a bit, I noticed that the Bookmarks entry appeared in guides where I had manually created "mini tocs" in longer topics. For example, an "in this section" thingy at the top of the topic. Those markers appeared in PDF bookmark frame under the Bookmark entry.
In the target, I ...

"Bookmarks" suddenly appears in PDF bookmark frame
This showed up today in PDF output, and I am not sure what's causing it.

Re: How to remove items from TOC
I'm bumping this old topic because I can't figure out how to exclude my See Also headings from my PDF Contents page.
I quickly realized I'd applied the h2 style on those headings, which should appear in the TOC.
So in the print medium, I:

Re: Can I delete unused targets?
Deleting the target crashed Flare.
This target was in a batch file (automated, I assume--I never added it/haven't used batch targets yet). I removed the link, and Flare crashed after briefly displaying an IO exception, but I wasn't fast enough to read/screen capture it.
I'll try again.

Can I delete unused targets?
The Flare 12 doc says you can add, open, edit, import, and rename targets, but I could find no mention of deleting them. I also didn't see anything on this forum, so I wonder if I am overthinking things.

Re: Flare 12 "Retrieving source control status" (git) hangs
Just a guess... Was the remote Git server down?
I did wonder about that. After I closed the "Retrieving..." message and did some stuff in Flare, I successfully pushed the changes to the remote repos. At least I assume I did. That dialog always goes by too fast, and I haven't yet discovered any ...

Re: New styles don't appear in style chooser
Additionally, many of us like to use a custom medium for PDF output (I call mine "PDF") to make it distinct from the "print" medium. As already pointed out above, the original purpose in CSS of the "print" medium is to control how a browser will render online content when printed. That won't solve ...

Re: Where can I edit CHAPTER n font size in print layout?
I'd open the style sheet in a text editor and conduct a search for font-size: to see if I can find anything where the font size is larger than expected. Be on the lookout for percentages, ems, and other relative sizing as well as an explicit font size.

Flare 12 "Retrieving source control status" (git) hangs
I came to the office ridiculously early today to make headway on a deadline. When I tried to open my project, The "Retrieving source control status" window processed for around 25 minutes until I finally just closed it.

Re: New styles don't appear in style chooser
I somehow missed that distinction. So when I edited the frames in my page layouts and created new styles, I should have used the default medium. Which is probably why my styles didn't appear when I needed them.

Frustrated with my own limitations, that is.
The Flare interface offers a round bullet style on the Home ribbon / Paragraph panel, except it isn't. When I select it, the green double chevrons display on output.
