Re: Ideas why Flare variable auto-suggest would stop working

Nita, thank you, and apologies for my slow reply. I subscribe to topics, but I am not receiving notifications.

Deleting the CatapultMdiEditor folder has been part of my regular "cleanup" process since my first support ticket, which I opened because I can never ever ever rename or move files without ...

Re: Ideas why Flare variable auto-suggest would stop working

Thanks very much. Flare won't let me change the default minimum from 3 to 2 (even if I overwrite the value), but since the application checks for the variable value, I probably shouldn't have created the abbreviated names, anyway.

Something new to add to my cleanup list.

Re: Ideas why Flare variable auto-suggest would stop working

Auto Suggestion is still enabled under both Settings and in the area for Enable/disable files.

I disabled both and restarted Flare. Auto suggestions for the long variable names came back, but I can't get Flare to suggest variables for the more abbreviated versions.

So either there is a conflict ...

Ideas why Flare variable auto-suggest would stop working?

Say I had a variable called Management Console that output the value Management Console. (I know, I am very creative  )

Whenever I started to type mana... the variable would pop up, and I could select it. However, it quickly became obvious that I'd gone overboard with the variable name ...

Re: Flare randomly changes primary target

It is under source control, but in a nonstandard way. My local IT guy originally bound the project to Git, but then we realized that Flare doesn't support SSH. So I do all my checkins using SourceTree, but the project is still bound to Git through the Flare interface. If I remember correctly, when ...

Flare randomly changes primary target

I have two online targets. Target A was my original primary, when I had no other online outputs. Now I also have Target B. After I created B, I right-clicked it and selected Make Primary from the submenu.

(Note: This sometimes takes multiple tries, even after a refresh--for example, today I could ...

Re: Word import: Specify where imported book should reside?

Thank you, Nita—I could not find this info anywhere, so it is much appreciated and very timely.

I had forgotten about the "Show Files" view. When I last used Flare (v. 9) 2+ years ago, I did a lot of cleanup using just that method. But memory told me I had done it in Content Explored and I couldn ...

Re: Any performance tips for running Flare on a VM?

Thank you for the input, Ramon and Nita.

According to About this Mac > System Report > Hardware > Storage, my drive is SSD.

My project is bound to Git, but I am doing commits through SourceTree. After much fumbling and failing on my part, IT helped me set it up and said something about SSH not ...

Any performance tips for running Flare on a VM?

I could use input from those of you who are using Flare on a VM.

My environment/settings:
Macbook Pro 13" retina with 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 16 GB memory
Flare 11 on Parallels 10 VM with Windows 8.1
8GB of memory allocated to the VM
No other user-installed programs running on the ...

Word import: Specify where imported book should reside?

My first Word import went OK yesterday and, with some manual tweaking, I can get the first online book production ready in a couple hours.

Here are some questions I had during/after the import that were not addressed by the help docs:

I could not find a way to instruct the import wizard where I ...

Re: New user - importing Word documents into a projecdt

Carol, I assume you already looked at Flare's very short video on importing Word (more a best practices checklist) and the online help .

I'm also new to Flare + the only writer at a startup trying to create the doc architecture while learning (with a looming deadline).

I postponed the Word ...

Conditional Text options not possible with Flare on VM?

Environment :
OS X 10.10.4
Flare 11 on Parallels Desktop 10 with Windows 8.1

The conditional text check boxes are missing, and clicking inside the empty fields to apply a condition does nothing. The following screen shots are my Basic and Advanced view.

I am probably missing something obvious ...
