Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
I get this happening a fair bit. I just start the build again and it runs ok. It usually happens when I have been viewing an output then closed it and clicked Rebuild Target.

Can I control how PDF output is viewed?
Following a recent upgrade to Windows 10 my pdf output now opens in Microsoft Edge even though I have Google Chrome set as my default browser. In windows 7 it used to open in google chrome. I was wondering if there was a way to control this behaviour?

Page Layout - Add "This page intentionally left blank"
Can someone tell me how I can add the words "this page intentionally left blank" to an empty page in a page layout. I have opened the Page Layout and investigated inserting a variable or condition but the buttons on the toolbar are greyed out. I have tried searching the forum and lots of results ...

Yes I checked that. I made the change all medium settings. This is why I am at a loss to understand what has happened.

Changes made to a style not saving into style sheet
I have encountered an interesting issue. I have a style, p.note, this had a light colour background and black text. I was asked to change this to a dark colour background and a light text colour. I edited the style and saved the style sheet. So far so good! The topic pages using the style all ...

Re: Transitions on objects
I'm transitioning from Captivate to Mimic as well. I think. Mimic is lacking some features I've come to rely on in Captivate so I'm not convinced yet that it is going to be my tool of choice.
From what I can tell, you cannot "transition" objects in Mimic, just frames.

Transitions on objects
I have always used Adobe Captivate to produce eLearning. However I am now trying out Mimic as I believe this will be better for what I am doing now. I have stumbled across one issue.

Re: Flare 12 Issue with drop down sections
Apparently the default is to have the twisty icon Flare 11 also but I definitely did not have any settings for any of the dropdown styles. I did not start this project, I inherited it so cannot say what happened to it in the past. In the end I went and changed the mc-image-open and mc-image-close to ...

I added the favicon as shown above.

Re: Flare 12 Issue with drop down sections
None of the advanced css options were set for drop down styles in Flare 11. This resulted in no twisty icon being rendered in the output. It looks like this default position has changed in Flare 12. This is now subject of a support ticket and I will place an update here when I know how to solve the ...

I have changed both the properties you mention in your reply to none and I am still getting the twisty image icon appearing on the screen. I don't know what else to try so I guess it is going to be a ticket for support.

Flare 12 Issue with drop down sections
I am currently testing our outputs in Flare 12 and have encountered a problem with HTML 5 Outputs containing drop down sections.
When I generated outputs in flare 11 they looked like this:
Flare Shot 1.png
Now I am generating the same content and it now looks like this:

Re: Any clever way to compare 'now' with 'last published'?
I too would be interested in knowing more about this. I can only access my content through the Flare API. I am not able to log into Git directly to use any of the features such as tagging. Git compare looks really useful.

Re: Index entries appearing for pages that are not in the TO
OK, we eventually got the bottom of the problem. I was not using a browse sequence for this content. However, one had been set up for another document and was being picked up during the build. The cure was to create an empty browse sequence file for my content.

Re: Index entries appearing for pages that are not in the TO
If anyone is interested I located an auto indexing file within the Project's Advanced folder and removed it. This stopped the indexing of the section of document I did not want indexed.

There a\re no context sensitive help IDs that I am aware of.devjoe wrote:Be aware that if the topics are linked to context-sensitive help IDs, they'll be included unless you exclude the alias files with conditions (if you only want to exclude some of the CSH IDs, you'll have to make multiple alias files).

Re: Index entries appearing for pages that are not in the TO
I doubt that mediums have anything to do with your issue. However, the auto indexing might be in play. I don't use that feature myself so can't say definitively, but that could be this last culprit.
I am just looking at that now. I usually prefer to control indexing myself simply because you can ...

Re: Index entries appearing for pages that are not in the TO
Yes, that's the option you want to set. That tells Flare to exclude anything that is not (and this is key...) *directly or indiretly* linked to the target. Looking at it from the positive instead of the negative, that means that everything that is on the TOC associated with the target will be ...

OK, went looking for the option you described and could not find it.
The option outlined in Red above is the closest I can find, am I looking in the wrong place?
