Re: Partial translation?
Hi Fred! I'm not aware of a way to apply the TM to only a few files in the project. But it sounds like you could mimic sending/receiving a translation bundle. To do this, import the full project into Lingo, then use the Create Bundle function to export only the files you want translated. Close your ...

Re: Using an image as a bullet point
What property are you using to add the image? If you are using background-image, remove it and use list-style-image instead. Also, I recommend applying this to the ul style rather than the li style, because the li style applies to both numbered and bulleted list items.

Advanced Conditional Tags
I spoke with Flare support today about a problem with conditional tags, and they told me I need to use the advanced tag settings in my targets. Unfortunately, they don't support the feature and couldn't give me any direction. Currently, I use five conditions in my project, and am generating four ...

Re: CSH links not working in Microsoft Edge
Ah ok, I understand. We are in the process of setting the files up on our server, so I don't know yet if they will work correctly from there. My guess is not, since the issues seems occur when our software hands off the URL to Windows API. For some reason, Edge scrubs the # and anything after it ...

Re: CSH links not working in Microsoft Edge
Can you expand on the benefits of using a lightweight server? Is that going to solve the Edge problem, or is there another reason you are suggesting it? I haven't had any previous experience with lightweight servers, so please forgive my ignorance...

Re: CSH links not working in Microsoft Edge
We want to have it on a server, and also installed locally for customers without an Internet connection (we have quite a few). I think the devs plan to run a check for an Internet connection upon opening the file, then use the server-based one if possible. If no connection is found (or if any page ...

CSH links not working in Microsoft Edge
We recently converted our documentation to HTML5 (goodbye, CHM!), but are having problems with the CSH links. I don't know the exact calls used for the links (our software is written in Delphi, unfortunately), but the devs said they just call the generated CSH file and reference the 4-digit ID I ...

Re: Adding/Creating a Home Toolbar Button
Old thread, I know. But this was incredibly helpful to me, and I wanted to share my new home icon for anyone else who might need one.
Here is the button: Here's how it looks on the toolbar:

Page Break Settings
I'm trying to spruce up our PDF output a bit, and one recurring issue is the page breaks. I don't want a page break between each topic, but sometimes there is just barely enough space to fit the next header/first line of the next topic, and then everything else ends up on the next page. See the ...

Re: PDF Styles Different from Preview
Oh my gosh. You are a life-saver. Even though I'm on Windows 10, I tried the solution listed for Windows 7 (regarding "unexpected output," haha) and it fixed everything. Thank you!

PDF Styles Different from Preview
We upgraded to Flare 12 recently, and are now having a problem with PDF output. We haven't really changed anything in the target or stylesheet, and the previews all look correct. But when the PDF target is built, the font looks very very different and I'm not sure what's happening! The CHM build ...

Re: Unwanted Page Break between Header and TOC Proxy
That fixed it! Thank you so much.
Do you know if that's something Flare inserts automatically? Because no div tags show up in the text editor for that topic.

Unwanted Page Break between Header and TOC Proxy
I'm relatively new to Flare, so please bear with me.
I took over a project several months ago which has both CHM and PDF outputs. My PDF output looks good, except for one issue. The header for the TOC (the previous tech writer manually created a TOC topic) appears on its own page and then the TOC ...
