Re: CSH for online output
As far as I know, there's nothing in the Flare files (js, masterpage, or otherwise) that you can modify to do what you want. It sounds like something you'll have to specify in the API call itself, and unfortunately, I'm not a developer either so I can't provide you with additional instructions.

Re: CSH for online output
Hi,
CSH started working fine, but for output new tab is opening.
How can I get CSH output in popup window with the defined size.
I tried "a.popup" style but did not work.
Pls suggest.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Best way to force footer to bottom on short topics?
ok. Is your footer in the same container div as your body content or is it in a separate one outside? I've got a complex structure and it is hard to keep track.

Nope! Just added padding to the bottom of the content div.StraygoatWriting wrote:Thanks, I will give that a go. It looks very similar to what I tried yesterday, though, so maybe it needs something else? Do you have the body set to any particular height or min-height?

Re: Best way to force footer to bottom on short topics?
I set my footer as absolute bottom left, like this:
div.footer
{
width: 100%;
position: absolute;
bottom: 0;
left: 0;
}
Then my div.content has a padding-bottom of 12em to prevent overlap on long topics. You would set this padding as equal to or slightly greater than the height of your ...

Re: Preserve formatting of inline HTML pasted into Flare top
Just wanted to pop in and say I'm watching your progress with great interest. We just started using Prism to highlight code examples in our top nav output. But of course, the first question I received was "why isn't the PDF updated too??"

Re: CSH for online output
If the API test is working fine, then the problem isn't with the Flare files. Our CSH calls work perfectly in Mozilla, so I doubt that is an issue. That means that the issue is probably related to the API call. Here are some things you can check:

Re: CSH for online output
In my experience, CSH opening random pages indicates that the ID # being referenced by the software is incorrect. Double-check that the ID numbers in the database are the same as those you have set in Flare.

Everything was working until I upgraded from an old Macbook Pro running parallels and Win 10 to an iMac 2017 retina. The non print outputs work ok, but pdf output - regardless of font chosen - massively alters tracking in a most unpleasant way. See attachment.

Re: How to track user search terms with Google Analytics
We are testing no results tracking, and found that search filters are causing issues. For example, we might get a notification that a search for "new topic" does not have any results, but the reason it doesn't have results is because the user applied a specific search filter.

If you haven't already, you could try selecting Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target . It's in the Advanced tab of your target.
Are any of the topics that are supposed to be excluded actually excluded? If so, check and see if you can figure out what's different between ...

I may not be making myself clear; it's not what Windows server version is compatible with IE11, it's what versions of Madcap Flare are compatible with IE11.
What I'm worried about, is generating HTML5 sites from Flare, which won't function correctly in IE11.

Hi Rick,
We use Google Analytics for feedback (as well as pageview/search term tracking). We followed Dave Lee's model (with a few minor modifications), and it works brilliantly! Check out the bottom of this post for detailed info: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=20563

Re: Adding Padding to Master Page or All Topics
What type of output are you generating? Depending on your target type, there might be better ways to add white space without directly modifying the stylesheet. For example, for PDF output, open the page layout and adjust the size of the body frame. For HTML5 top-nav, open the top-nav skin and adjust ...

Cherie, this happens to me when I click something either while Flare is opening or a project is loading. It's been happening since at least Flare 12. Next time you open Flare (and then your project), try avoiding any mouse clicks or keystrokes and see if the menu still pops up.

That's not what I want to do. I want to use one CSS for the editor and a completely different one for the output.

Re: Processing lag in 2017 r2 causing big trouble
I have the same issue after upgrading to a new computer. Talked to MadCap yesterday and gained a little more clarity on the issue. The problem is caused by a conflict between Flare and .NET Framework 4.7. Unfortunately, .NET Framework 4.7 is installed with the Creator's update, and after installing ...
