Site name in browser tab - Side Nav template

Hi all,

This is probably an easy one, but I can't for the life of me find the answer.

In the Tripane skin you could specify what you wanted to appear in the browser tab for the compiled HTML5 output. But I can't find an equivalent setting in the Side Nav skin. It seems to be defaulting to whatever ...

Re: Frame Import Error Message

Thanks Casey.

I heard back from support overnight that 2019 wasn't supported (as you said). So I downloaded FM2017 and was still unable to import UNTIL I opened both apps in Administrator mode (right-click each App icon and choose Run as Administrator). Then it worked perfectly.

To save having to ...

Re: How do I hide toolbar icons on home page (Tripane skin)

Thanks Dave. I am using a different master page for the home page. Its the skin toolbar that I wanted to hide on the home page.

Ideally the home page would be quite different to the topic pages, hence the different master page. With this page being quite different, the skin toolbar doesn't really ...

How do I hide toolbar icons on home page (Tripane skin)

The subject says it all. I am using a Tripane skin and want to have toolbar icons on my topic pages but not my home page.

Is there an easy way to do that?

Thanks, Louise.

Content merging and project options

Hi all,

I am building HTML5 help for a product that has a lot of documentation (over 200 guides). The content is produced in 2 different locations (India and Australia), but all the production is being done on the one machine. The method I am using is to merge the projects at run time, using a ...

Entry in PDF bookmarks pane vs in TOC

Hi all,

I am wondering whether there is a way to make a heading appear in the bookmarks pane but not in the Table of contents for the PDF.
For example, the heading Contents - I want that to appear in the bookmarks pane so that people can navigate easily back to the PDF's Table of contents, but ...

Re: I am having skin problems.

Just reading through this topic in the hope of finding a resolution to an issue I'm having with HMTL5 output.

I have used @font-face, but the fonts still aren't displaying in the output. So after some digging I noticed that the fonts folder (which is located in the stylesheets folder in the content ...

Can I a create a movie within a movie?

Hi all.

I'm very new to Mimic, so apologies in advance if this is a completely incorrect assumption of what Mimic can do.

Here's what I'm trying to do. It relates to training modules I've been asked to create. Create a mimic movie that has 4 different frame types. An example of one frame type ...

Topics linked correctly, but not appearing when testing

Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this as I'm out of ideas.

I have around 700 identifiers in my project, with one Alias file and multiple header files.

In the Alias editor I have linked all the identifiers to topics, which seemingly has worked because all the icons next to the ...

Re: Linking Top Nav and Tripane output

Hi David,

An update on this. If I publish to a web server and use the URL for the 'default page' of the tripane output (which is also contained on the same web server, though maybe this doesn't need to be the case), it works.

Still no joy on a local file server though.

As for searching across ...

Thanks David. I tried copying your exact syntax and it still didn't work. The first time I clicked the link it took a while thinking about it which gave me initial hope, but then failed with the same error (File not found).

Hi David,

This looked like the answer to something I am trying to do with my docset so I tried it but can't get the link to work.

I did as roboHal suggested and pasted the path to the default.htm file for my tripane output, but when I click on the link from my TOP NAV output, it says the "File was ...

Re: Relationship table headings

An update on this.

By adding a value to the mc-lavel (unclassified) style of Related topics, I was able to get the heading to appear, but it is appearing in a strange position. On no topics does it appear at the top (where I actually want it to appear), but it varies in position from topic to topic ...

Relationship table headings

Hi all,

I have a lot of relationship tables that were imported as part of our content migration from DITA to Flare. In my Master page I have added a Relationships proxy so that where one of the table is applicable to a topic, the related content links appear. All good.

My problem is that the ...

Re: Topic title/TOC syncing not working in Flare 2017?

Hi guys,

Related to this I am seeing some strange behaviour re the TOC entries. I can see the TOC entries just fine but others in my team only see [%=System.LinkedTitle%].

Is there something extra we need to do so that everyone in the team sees the topic titles in the TOC?

'New' master stylesheet seemingly being ignored

I have 2 projects that both use the same stylesheet. The stylesheet is stored in a 3rd (global) project that is linked to the 2 projects.

I've just created a new stylesheet that I am trying to apply at the project level, but when I open the topics in Flare, they are still using the old stylesheet ...

Topic search within a project

Hi all,

I'm fairly new so am really hoping I just haven't stumbled across how to do this yet...

I want to be able to search for a topic in my project but can't find a way to do it. My project has over 5000 topics, so as you can imagine its pretty tedious having to browse through folders to find a ...
