Hi Uwe,
I find it very strange however that Lingo pulls in files from the Flare project that are in my opinion in no way linked to the target I selected for the import. They are not in that target's TOC, they are not linked to by hyperlinks or cross refs,...
The only thing they have in common is ...

Hi Uwe,

Thanks for providing your take. One thing I would like to mention is indeed that all languages will need to be published to the same webserver location for our online help system but I do see your point ...

XLIFF bundle
Hello all,
I will be sending an XLIFF bundle out of Lingo to our translation agency to have our operator manual created in Flare translated to 12 languages.

Yes, the objective is to release all languages in one go.
Updates only take place at major software releases, which is once a year.

Insert images directly into TOC
Good day to all,
I was wondering whether it is a best practice to insert images as an entry in a TOC?
Some background: the UI of our machine software holds a large number of procedures that can be carried out by operators or service engineers.

Re: Thumbnail vs original image
@Stuart: new images that I am adding are *.png but unfortunately there is quite a lot of "heritage" in all sorts of image formats. It is however a good suggestion that I will try out.
@Trent: I don't have that option ticked but will give it a go and look at the result.

Re: Image duplication translated projects
I was informed by Madcap Support that at this point in time it is not possible to "make" Flare publish images in a certain target folder. As soon as I find the time I'll check if there is already a feature request for this and if necessary I will file one myself.

Thumbnail vs original image
Hello all,
I'm using the thumbnail functionality (with pop-up) to avoid that the images take to much space on my HTML output pages. This is done from within the stylesheet (style img.large)

Hi Madeline,
Yes they are displayed, that is not the issue.
Maybe I didn't explain well, it is kind of hard to understand if you don't see the project in front of you.
The big chunck of data that I'm breaking into pieces (topics) has a H2 as title. The data underneath the H2 consistens of ...

Hi there,
In my project (imported from FM) I am breaking up large pieces of information in smaller topics. Output = PDF

Re: Topic order in Toc not reflected in PDF
@Devjoe: right, I didn't know that. Ran some more tests and they confirmed your theory. The idea is to get rid of the large topics and the bookmarks anyway and link directly to smaller topics, so the fact that Flare works this way is not a problem.

Hello,
For my printed output in a project I am using a seperate TOC. Heading levels are determined within the topics by styles instead of by TOC depth.
Under 1 entry in that TOC I had about 10 sub-entries. All subentries are linked to bookmarks in one topic file (import legacy from FM). In that ...

Same issue with the image duplication in Flare 2017...
Any known workarounds that maybe could be carried out in batch? Duplicates take up a lot of space but relinking would take quite some time, which is not what we have lots of I'm afraid.

Hi Louise,
I'm linking to the "default" file on the webserver where I'm publishing to. Even when I try the link locally on my machine after building the output (not yet publishing) it works.
I did however learn that it is important to use the correct syntax in the link.

Hi Louise,

Thank you both for your input.
I just tried it out and indeed the link between the two "home" topics of Top nav and Tripane works after I set it up the way you explained!
We are still in the development phase, trying stuff out, so this set up is probably not the final solution.

Excluding home page from Pulse
Hello,
Is it possible to somehow exclude the home page of our HTML5 top nav target from Pulse?
There is no use seeing the feedback window on that page as we don't want people to provide feedback there and now the Pulse window is disturbing the overall look & feel of that page.
thanks!
