Re: Changing Word import file's location

I tried deleting the .flimp file, but the project built just as before, oblivious to the missing folder. I then removed the imported file from Contents, Images, Master Pages, and the TOC, re-imported from the new location, and it worked. If there's a simpler process, I'd like to hear of it.

Changing Word import file's location

The source Word file has been relocated and I now need to point to the new location. A number of projects are affected. Will deleting the .flimp and re-importing from the new location do the trick? Or is there some way of doing that from within the project?

Re: Creating own project template

I'm gradually understanding how it all fits together. I seem to spend more time in the text editor than the XML WYSIWYG, but this is proving helpful.

Re: Creating own project template

It's taking me longer than expected to get to grips with it, but it certainly is a powerful program.

Re: Creating own project template

Thank you, Sabine and Nita. I was expecting to find it in the File->Save menu. (Flare isn't the most intuitive software I've worked with.)

Creating own project template

I've been working on a base project (no content) that I want to save as a template, but it seems that only files can be templated. Is there a way to do this, or do I have to copy the project each time I want to create a similar project?

Re: Default project language

That could do it. I have a default project with set variables and logo, so I should find it there. Thanks.

Default project language

Whenever I start a project, I have to change the language because it shows US English as the default. Is it possible to set the default to another variety of English?

Re: Second copy of Flare on laptop?

My laptop copy runs on the same domain as the desktop PC. I've not tried to run both at the same time, as I don't need to and it violates the licence anyway.

Re: Second copy of Flare on laptop?

Yes, I can have a second copy, provided only one is in use at any one time. Excellent!

Re: Company logo in home page header

Sabine, thanks for that. It solves my problem.

I hadn't realised what the text box was for. It ought to be labelled.

Thanks again.

Re: Company logo in home page header

Thanks for the reply. My problem is that the Image textbox refers to an internal resource (url(resources:WebHelp2/Desktop)) about which I know nothing and doesn't provide a file menu so that I can select my logo image.

Is it possible within the terms of the licence to have a second copy on a laptop for alternate use?

Re: Common variable set for multiple projects?

Thanks, Kellie. By global project, do you mean a basic project with just the information you want to be common to a number of projects? Also, how exactly is the local Variables replaced by the global variables?

(I'm very new to Flare and yet to get to grips with how it hangs together.)

Common variable set for multiple projects?

Rather than repeating the setup of common variables for every project I start, I'd like to be able to call upon one default set. Is this possible?

Company logo in home page header

I'm just getting to grips with Flare and have selected the Top Navigation Advanced template to work with. After some effort, I've been able to change the company logo image in the home page footer (via Content->Resources->MasterPages->HomePage.flmsp), but can find no means of doing the same in the ...
