Having a bit of a look at this myself. (In HTML5 top nav.)
While I'm not interested in boolean filter sets just yet, I do want to create a mini-search bar that is set to use a different search filter to the global one that is applied to the 'global' search bar in the hero banner. The mini-search ...

Re: expand/collapse in menu proxy
Just iterating thanks for this tip from Dave L and all concerned.
A sticky accordion-style TOC menu in the left hand column and the new in-article heading menu proxy on the right (like Microsoft's knowledge base template) is now fantastic for lateral navigability.

Re: Having an issue using Elasticsearch
No support on Edge without user intervention is very disappointing, even if it looks like it's a Windows 10 glitch rather than ElasticSearch. That, plus no synonyms and no filters means we can't move to this search engine yet either.

Re: Online Images HUGE, Can I make them obey max width setti
Hi Christina,
I would hazard that 725 ems is too wide. I use a 90 em middle column width, which occupies roughly half of a widescreen 1080p monitor.
This might have been overridden by another selector in your pre-sync stylesheet? I adjust the width of images to suit <p> and <tr><td> elements, for ...

Re: Clean XHTML output target publishes all topics
And I can set up my topic templates to have opt-out turned on by default. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and bulk-condition the project.

Re: Clean XHTML output target publishes all topics
Yep, I have that flag ticked in Advanced . But it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. It culled some extraneous files, but all of my 'regular' topics are still included in the output.
My master page is stripped down and only has a body proxy.

Re: Clean XHTML output target publishes all topics
Thanks for the replies people. To be honest, I just assumed that the use cases for 'Clean XHTML' were so specific that the target wouldn't be considered part of the 'online output' family and exhibit the default behaviour.
I stand by that assertion, however. The obvious use case for this target is ...

Re: Search results help?
Has the r3 update introduced stop word manipulation for HTML5 outputs at all? It seems ludicrous that Flare includes three of the five Ws in their stop list (when, where, who), but has NOT included 'how', 'why', or 'what', and there's no way to change this for its much-promoted HTML5 output.

Re: Setting page breaks in PDF for drop-down headings
Had not even occurred to me, even though I've got a page-break div style for that exact reason!
Much appreciated. I was just about to divvy my content up into snippets and have two topics for such articles, one with dropdowns for online and one with headings for print.

Setting page breaks in PDF for drop-down headings
What a nightmare.
I simply cannot induce a page break before for drop-down heading styles in Flare output to PDF. I've tried adding page-break-before: always to:
MadCap|dropDownHead
MadCap|dropDownHotspot
MCDropDownHead
dropDownHead
These are all span styles so won't work. Making the drop-down ...

Re: Adding extra functionality to HTML5 top nav output
Hi JHine,
As far as I'm aware, neither of those options can be implemented out of the box.
1. You'll need to obtain page visit data from Pulse, Azure Analytics, Google Analytics, or whatever analysis tool is available on your web server's platform and use this data as input into your 'top five ...

Re: Using Divs in the Home Page
Hi Kerimucci,
First you need to carve up the 'row' or page into sections with 'container' divs, and then have one or more nested divs inside the containing div. To centre a single internal div, set the margin to 0 auto (the div will centre to the width of the containing div). For multiple 'tile ...

None that I know of. However, you could try:
1. Create a batch target so that if you want to create single PDFs for a bunch of topics, you only have to click once (after you've set up all your single-topic Targets).
2. There are primitive client-side Javascript libraries emerging for converting ...

Re: Cross-references handling in- and out-of-TOC topics
Thanks Choccie, I kind of figured I was asking the impossible. I get that it's logistically impossible to keep non-TOC xrefs up to date automatically in the topic viewer. I'm just curious that there's no way to know at build-time if a xref destination topic is in a target's TOC. It might go against ...
