When I edit the content of a table, every now and then I accidently click and drag the border of a cell and thus change the column width, which I had set to a specific percent value. So far I always noticed it (I think) and was able to hit "undo" but it ...

Marginalia with Flare?
Hi all,
Can I publish my pdf with marginalia infos using Flare without add-ons?
Regards, S.
UPDATE: I meanwhile realized that the "marginalia" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marginalia) are also called "margin notes".
I found two threads here (https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t ...

print templates and default values
Hi all,
Are the only templates shipped with Flare or made available to download such ones with page layouts in "Letter" format and in inch measurements (American style)?
Are there any publicly available templates with "A4" page layouts and measurements in cm (European style)?

Find Previous
In my Find and Replace in Files dialog the button "Find Previous" seems to work exactly the same way as "Find Next". Flare 2017 r3. Both seem to search "foreward". Did I not water the button enough or am I doing something else wrong or is this a (shiver do I dare to say the word as a newbie and even ...

question: can I reference text/titles in other documents?
Hi all again,
As the title says, can I reference text or at least titles in other flare documents?
E.g. if I have a user manual and a service manual and in the user manual I want to say something like "For an in depth explaination see the chapter XY in the service manual ABC."
Of course in the ...

Re: special question about cross-references
Hello u 2,
Thx for the answers. Helped a lot.
I found that one can (even) customize the terms used by those context sensitive xrefs (see picture below, :D ).
2 new question, though:
1) Can I disable some of these formats, e.g. if I do not (ever) want the {pageref} to turn into "on the facing page ...

special question about cross-references
Hello,
I am still evaluating Flare. Anyway, I am wondering ...
Sometimes I want to cross reference other chapters by name (like "see chapter XY").
Sometimes these are shorter sub-chapters, of which even 2 or 3 might fit on the same page.
In some special cases, one of these sub-chapters, which I ...

Re: Non-breaking characters
How can I insert a word joiner or similar special characters in the WYSIWYG editor?
I did not find it in the insert symbol dialog.
(Besides, it would be nice to have some way of differenciating similar looking symbols in this dialog, e.g. by extra display of its Unicode or similar.)
Do I really ...

spell checking and hyphenation checking of variables content
is this both (title) possible?
(Just to be clear regarding hyphenation checking, I am thinking of marking a word and manually checking the rules for that word in the hyphenation pane.)
Regards, S.

Re: How do I create a cross-reference to a numbered step?
I also had another idea.
An even more workaroundish workaround, but an alternative nevertheless:
If one is ok with maintaining the numerical sequence of the numbered items by hand, but mainly wants to have automatically updating references of the step's number,
then one could simply create variables ...
