Just thought I'd chime in as I know how frustrating it can be trying to get TFS to behave. FWIW under my configuration we use on-premise TFS and Active Directory so Flare never really asks for credentials as it pulls them from Windows/AD.
Does Flare refuse to connect to TFS for the purposes of ...

Re: Font Awesome (sigh) in a single topic
So I use a combination of approaches for FontAwesome to work.
I have the fonts installed on my system for print output. I also have the webfonts hosted with my documentation so I can reference them via font-face and use them in pseudo elements etc. I also have the JS method configured so I can use ...

Re: Styles applied to snippets aren't displaying in PDF or H
Conditioning a stylesheet out of the build process seems a little overkill. Is there any reason you can't put something like the following as your snippet content?
<div class="snippet-flagged" MadCap:conditions="Snippet.Flagged" MadCap:excludeAction="unbind">

Re: How to delete space after colon in index entries
So I'm fairly sure you can use the following regexp query to achieve what you're after:
([:;]{1})\s([^;:/>\s]+)
I'll explain it for anyone who is interested, as I remember a time when regexp was like an alien language to me!
The first [:;] says "either a semicolon or colon" the {1} indicates ...

Re: How to delete space after colon in index entries
I've never used any translation functionality in Flare, but I've ventured a little into regexp before. If you can post a few complete strings (complete with offending spaces) in this thread I can take a stab at a statement for you at some point this week.

Re: Glossary at the front
You'll likely have "Generate glossary proxy" checked in the target. Clear this and at the exact point you'd like the glossary to appear, use Insert > Proxy > Glossary Proxy (in xml view).

Re: Table with image in one cell, text in another
Is there any reason you want to use a table for this? I wouldn't say its an ideal solution. You'd be much better off using realistically any other sort of tag, you could make this with one <p> block if you so desired..

Re: Apply Style to Multiple Lines of Text at Once
You could make use of the repeat last action shortcut which is F8, in the XML viewer, if you highlight the first word and use the style changer, then highlight any subsequent words you wish to change and press F8, Flare will make the same change that was just made. Not a perfect solution, but a time ...

You could try building a HTML5 target using your print medium, to be able to properly inspect what's going on.

Hi Bob, if you inspect a page that should have syntax highlighting, do you have any JavaScript errors? Can you see a reference to prism.js and prism.css in the <head> of the document?

You don't need to delete anything to override the image, just select your replacement image from your file. Edit: Read Dave's solution below

It's embedded in the skin, you'll need to add your own image in the skin editor.

Re: Flare and TFS 2018
I use Flare 2018 for source control and it works very well in most cases. The only issues I've ever encountered were trying to add several new images into Flare and the adding them to source control. I tend to upload them directly into TFS via browser and get latest all to use them in my Flare ...

PDF back cover - best practices
Hi all,
I'm after some help consistently generating a back cover for PDF output. I have an 'empty' page defined in the relevant PageLayout with a few decoration frames (no header, body or footer frames) and in the relevant TOCs, I add a topic (Back.htm) set as an empty page in the TOC properties ...

Hi Wendy,
I use TFS for source control for a team of two authors. My current setup works well so it's worth sharing. First and foremost I don't use any branching whatsoever. I don't see that it offers any benefits for authoring and using it just because developers do seems a little odd to me. I ...

Re: FIXED: Variables in PDFs - how they look
The method I posted earlier is targeting the class that madcap converts variables to at build time, hence you wouldn't see it in the XML viewer as the class wouldn't exist yet. I see no reason why you couldn't create a snippet that simply contains the product name variable formatted as you like ...

Re: Is it possible to 'embed' CSS style in topic editor?
Hi :)
You don't need the media="screen" attribute and the type="text/css" is the only supported attribute at the moment (and therefore the default) so leave that out as well. This should work fine, there are some caveats to using style info in header elements in Flare which means it's always ...
