Hi Eric,
Sorry I misunderstood. Page layouts are applied in the fltoc file.
Select the entry and then choose Properties > Printed output > add a page break and select the layout and type of page.
All the Page Layout selection in the XML viewer does is enable you to preview as you type the output ...

Spacing between breadcrumbs
Hi guys,
I was going to ask a question about adding addition spacing around the breadcrumb divider and after the prefix but I've answered my own question. My issue was breadcrumbs just look cramped on the page and I wanted to add a little space between items. So "Home>Subpage" becomes "Home ...

Re: Page Layout Question
In the TOC entry for the topic, do you have Auto-end on a 'left' page selected (Printed Output tab)? Or is the topic contained within a section that is auto-end of a left page? Flare will auto insert addtional pages when these options are selected. Troubleshooting additional pages can be tricky I've ...

Not sure of the type of document this is, how many graphics are included, what sort of field you're in or what your experience level is with Flare.

Re: Table Row Separator Issue
If it was a random thing and not so regular (every 5 rows) I'd have said it was just a display issue in the editor. Does the same occur in your final output? I've seen what appear to be heavier row separators when editing a page but upon output they have not been present. And sometimes vice versa ...

Re: Table Row Separator Issue
What is in the table style definition? Is there in Rows section a pattern or repeat of 5 rows?
If it is happening with a completely new table, I suspect there is something in the table style that is causing the extra separator.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Looking for Documentation on Hierarchy of Styles
Well, that's a matter of preference. I noticed that Flare now likes to put in P tags inside LI elements by default. Seem to remember that you can turn that behaviour off. Personally I'm glad it's there and it saves time for me. I would use multiple P tags inside a LI to add a graphic or a list ...

Re: Looking for Documentation on Hierarchy of Styles
By default IMG is an inline element (well, a replaced element with a default inline display value). So IMG can live comfortably within a P tag, but they don't have to. My guess is that you should agree what your best practice is, and stick to it for ease of maintenance across your doc set.

From the looks of it that text frame on the first page looks pretty crammed and it doesn't look likely that the text will fit.

I once had to do a similar exercise for a project so I feel your pain. When I visited the office of the manager who said it was vital to the project, they had printed the entire help-system-rendered-as-pdf and had it proudly on their bookshelf behind them. Folders and folders of paper that I'm ...

A page layout will fill the columns in the numbered order specified in the page layout. If you open the page layout you'll see arrows indicating direction of text flow.

Mine would be to use a transparent png instead of a symbol.
You've a lot of colour and gradient settings in there that may not work on all browsers, let alone whether the symbol itself can be rendered.
If I wanted to guarantee the display of a specialised symbol in a particular colour/size, I'd ...

Re: Faster Way to Add Cross References?
For output, a minitoc proxy I think is the only way to go unless you're happy to hand copy headings and manually insert links. You could feasibly put together a table or div containing the links. But I think that would be a pain to maintain. Or if you're a coder then perhaps you could create a ...

Re: Hotspots Move Depending on OS and Browser.
It's been an issue for some time. Where an image is resized from the original or uses some percent-of-view-portal type setting, the hot spots do not. They are fixed in location. So any resize of the image (or the view window if it resizes the image) will result in the hotspots drifting from their ...

I think what you're asking is to add follow on paragraphs to your list element. I see you've already got your lists as paragraph items (think that's now the default) in that they go <li><p>List text in here</p></li>.
If you put your cursor at the end of item and hit return, you get a new list item ...
