Re: Image overlaps text in a Flare htm topic

Right click the image and choose one of the Text Wrap options "In Line with text", "Square", "Behind" or "In Front of". Once that's done you can right click the image and in Properties set any margin/padding you want for the image on all sides or just one or two.

I wonder if like other Proxies there are associated styles like p.MenuProxy1 thru 6? If so you could set p.MenuProxy1 to display:none;
Just a thought and I've not tested it, then it wouldn't affect the other TOCs in your project. But that would also assume that your menu proxy was always at the same ...

Re: Creating on-the-fly reverse TOC?

Not that I can think of within Flare. The only option I can think of is to write an external script to do this.

I could imagine a bit of Python that reads TOCA, converts it to TOCB, which is then used by the target to build the document. You could then call the script as a pre-build event from a ...

Re: Formatting the indentation of the Text View in Flare 12?

There isn't really a way. The Text Editor view will automatically adjust the xml whenever you refresh the page view (open the file or switch between xml/text). When I want to do more serious text work with source files (or really need to understand a complicated page) I use an external text editor ...

The <H1 class="TOCHeading"> needs to go on the actual page, not in the page layout. My Contents page looks like this for example:

Re: Glossary Page Numbering in PDF

Right click the entry in the fltoc file and choose properties.
On the printed output tab change the Break Type to Chapter and set the appropriate page layout.
In the Page Number section, resest it to "A" with the format ALPHA. That should do the trick.

I'm not sure about the Flare command line, but you could probably query the Madcap Licence registry key to determine its presence using the command line.
For me the keys are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MadCap Software\Flare\License. When unlicensed, the relevant version key is empty. The tricky ...

Phew 4000 pages!

Since it builds to HTML, and assuming the content for both targets is the same, is there some difference in TOC depth between online and PDF that might point to the issue? A heading being captured by PDF TOC that isn't by HTML TOC?
My next guess would be it's a layout issue. Flare ...

Hi Muralisk,

Your css as written works for me on a minimal project. The {n} variable outputs the existing level of heading and {n+} increments a new heading level number.

Are there auto ...

Re: MiniTOC & Autonumbers

Hi,

No, MiniTOC spacing shouldn't be any different to the TOC spacing. The CSS should work in the same way. Just remember that you need a set of p.MiniTOCn styles to match the p.TOCn styles.

For example, if my heading styles are:
h1
{
mc-heading-level: 1;
mc-auto-number-format: 'CH:{chapnum ...

Re: Automatic TOC number update on conditional tagging

If I understand you correctly, here's what I would do:

1. Do not use manual numbering.
2. Set up a condition for each client and apply conditions on the TOC entries where appropriate - this will turn on and off items in the TOC according to each target
3. Configure a target for each client that ...

Yes you can. In the Page Layout Editor, right click the frame and choose Rotate. The contents will rotate with the frame. This is true for Decoration, Header, Footer and normal Body frames.

I suspect the style has been added to the print medium and not the HTML5 one. Verify that when you are changing styles you change them for all appropriate mediums.

The System.PageCount variable will give you a total page count for the document. I use:

I think there's an easier way to do this, if you allow each list element to include a paragraph by default. If your list looks like:

Hi,

Autonumbering formats are specified usually in the heading style in a property like the below:

I've used tables with left/right/centre aligned content as appropriate, or DIVS with float left/right positioned content.
