Re: Broken links in PDF output - v2021

Not here sorry. 2021 works OK for me. Check your xrefs are in the format:

Code: Select all

<MadCap:xref href="fileToLinkTo.htm">"Link text" on page 1</MadCap:xref>
And the file that is linked to exists in your project and TOC (the topic will be present in the output).

Cheers,

Re: Custom Numbered List PDF Output

That's true, I hadn't thought of changing the font for the numbers. It's a little trickier because you have to remember to make sure your <li> elements have <p>'s inside them. And you would have an issue with numbers above 9 as the number 10 would be displayed as two separate circles.

The following ...

Re: Aligning Table Column Content

For centre aligning of text...
If all cells are always centre-aligned, you could add the property "text-align: center;" to the TD element in your style sheet.
If only certain cells or certain parts of cells are centre-aligned, you could create a SPAN class called "centred" and add "text-align ...

Re: Creating a new import project programmatically via API

No worries Neil,

The layouts of Flare TOC and other structure files is fairly easy to duplicate and even if it's a one/off process per import, a little script to harvest a TOC from the CHM and turn it into an fltoc could be fairly easy to put together. I'm no programmer by any means and it depends ...

Re: Aligning Table Column Content

Not sure what you mean exactly. If you mean make the text in each row align vertically centred in that row, then apply a "vertical-align: middle;" to the <td> defintions, either in the tablestyle or as a general style if you aren't using tablestyles. Re: Selecting conditions for different

I too am not sure what you mean by your query.

It sounds like you want to know what conditions have been used to generate a particular document or output? If that is the case, hopefully the targets still exist in the project. Each target specifies which conditions apply and what variable ...

Re: How to adjust spacing between autonumbered figure & capt

No worries. It was the offset that was creating the extra space you didn't want. Not sure why you couldn't edit in the CSS editor (I generally do all my styling in the raw CSS). Perhaps the wrong medium was selected in the editor.

Re: How to adjust spacing between autonumbered figure & capt

That's odd. Can you change the value directly in the stylesheet in a text editor? It's usually in project folder/content/resources/stylesheets. Have a look for your caption style (make sure you're in the right medium section if you're using mediums (an @<medium> { } label) ) and change:

Re: How to adjust spacing between autonumbered figure & capt

Ahhh. Try changing the Auto-number to Inside Head with offset '0', and add a space or two to the auto-number definitions so it reads CF:Figure {n+}... (where the periods are replaced with spaces).

To help us troubleshoot, can you attach an image showing the space and the code used in your caption style?

Re: How to adjust spacing between autonumbered figure & capt

The vertical spacing between image and a following (or preceding) caption? You could set a margin-top or margin-bottom as appropriate on the image, or the caption style.

If you mean the spacing between the caption number and the caption itself, that's in the caption style. My p.FigureCaption style ...

Re: Colors Wrong

I've found similar issues with colour definitions and for me it was due to differences in the way the colour was rendered in my graphics program on my images and conversions to RGB/CMYK. Re: Metainformation for pictures required

Possibly over-simplistic, but... If the document is for support staff or internal use only, can you just include the source for the image in a figurecaption or a line of text under the image? That way it's immediately clear where they came from. You could use a condition on the caption to show/hide ...

I had a little play with the idea...

The post-build command:

Runs correctly but nothing is copied to my desktop. My guess is it can't interpret the list of files in the source part of this command. In Madcap's example ...

Yes it was a new feature automatically turned on in PDF output in the latest Flare update. It surprised me too when every PDF I opened subsequent to the upgrade popped up a PDF/A popup in Acrobat. More that the popup looked more like a warning to me than a helpful message. There's a workaround to ...

There are several ways to do this...

You could put the tablestyle back in the location linked to from the affected topic (usually somewhere inside Content/Resources/TableStyles), then use the Content Explorer inside Flare to move the file to your preferred location. This should update all ...

What do you mean by "sometimes"? Is it always the same topics that have faulty heading styles, or does it change? If it is only sometimes not using the correct styles (and it looks like in some cases it's using a default style definition instead of your blue one), then that's where I'd start looking ...

As you probably discovered, it's the display: block; statement that causes the content to fill the width of the text frame, no matter what other left or right margin settings are supplied.

So:
table
{
width: 80mm;
margin-left: 20mm;
}
will also work and will align right if the text frame is ...

Re: Custom Numbered List PDF Output

Not as far as I know (would love to learn a new trick if it's possible!). Flare doesn't recognise a negative number for a background position so you can't use a background image and move it to the left of each <li> element as you would with a web page. The times I've had to do this, I've fudged it ...

Re: Syntax error with input type="radio"

Bonjour Louis,

The issue isn't the form, it's that you have tags that aren't complete. In flare input tags and br tags need to have a closing forward slash "/>" if they don't have an explicit closing tag "</input>"
The below works:
