The problem is when you aren't using conditions on your topics. For example, we have one product, and we have topics that might appear in any of 12 PDF guides. They all build into one online help system. The individual PDF TOCs are all part of the master online TOC.

You would end up with broken links in your output. Wouldn't that confuse your users? Or if it was converted to text like you suggest, the surrounding text makes it sound like it should be a link, but it's not a link, which would also be confusing for your users.

Make sure the table is part of the child <ol>.

If you look at your code, you see that you have two separate ordered lists. However, this is a case where you really have one ordered list where you need a table in the middle of it.

If you always want to have the text "Blahdey Blah" and never "Blahdey Blah Performance Test" you could use the title attribute. I think that is what MadCap will use for the cross reference unless you specifically point to the H1, or if no title attribute is present.

They are unnecessary in your output because you built a clean list. However, not everybody builds clean lists. Sometimes they break the list and add an image and then restart the list and continue the numbering, or break the list and throw in a table and then continue the numbering. You'd be amazed ...

Open the output in a browser window. Look at the source to see what CSS style sheets are being applied and in what order. Make sure that the CSS style sheet you are using shows up in the <head> tag. It looks like it is using the default browser style, as if it can't find a CSS file or if the CSS ...

It's all CSS, so you should be able to use your browser's inspector tool to find the specific CSS element and modify it the way you want it. I will point out that you can have multiple menu proxies. If somebody else comes along later and wonders why this isn't working for them, make sure that you don't have an alias file selected. If there is an alias file selected, Flare will include all the topics in the alias file, and all the topics that they link to, and all the topics THEY link to, etc ...
