Re: Single project Vs multiple projects

If you want to do linking between the books to concepts in other books, then I'd recommend a single project so you can have cross references, where at least the title will stay up to date if it changes in the source topic.

I gave a presentation at MadWorld a couple of weeks ago on this topic, and ...

Re: Best way to display data from one source in multiple top

Like Chrisj suggested, Snippet Conditions are the solution you're looking for, if you want a native-Flare solution.

Here's how snippet conditions work:

You create a new condition tag set in your project. I call mine "Snippet conditions" so I remember to never set any of these conditions in ...

Full Time Sr. Technical Writer Position

Hey Propeller heads!

The company I work for, Venafi, is currently hiring a senior technical writer, based out of our Salt Lake City office. However, we are willing to hire a remote candidate, but some travel (a couple of times a year) would be necessary to attend corporate events. This is a ...

Re: Page numbers aren't behaving in PDF/Flare 10.2.2

I imagine that could also happen if the page is conditioned out in the Project Organizer, but not in the TOC, so you wouldn't even see in the TOC that the item had been conditioned out.

Re: Search results ordering doesn't compute

I saw a presentation on HTML5 search at MadWorld several years ago, so my memory is kind of spotty on this one, but I believe that the following issues affect search. I don't remember their exact importance ranking, though if we can get that info from MadCap, it would make a very useful MadCap KB ...

Re: Online Help Search Results and PDFs

I think A is most likely your answer in this case. I think providing Word and PDF items is not a common (not unique, just uncommon) use case, so people haven't seen it yet.

I would submit this as a bug report to MadCap. The defined Flare setting should apply to all content types.

My guess is that ...

Why are you trying to use a Chrome extension to change the theme? Just create a new style using the skin editor and "Bob's your uncle," as they say.

Re: Pendo users? Anyone?

Not exactly a duplicate, but related to that topic, for sure. Two parts of the same question. In this one, I'm wondering if anybody is using Pendo and how you implement it in your organization, especially if you are using CSH help calls. That may or may not include modifying the default.html file ...

Post-build action to modify the Default.htm file

Has anybody created a post-build action to modify the Default.htm file that gets generated by Flare?

I have a need to add a script to that file. (I have another post on using Pendo, which describes my need; basically, you have to use the Default.htm file to use context-sensitive help, and I need to ...

Pendo users? Anyone?

Is anybody out there using Pendo for analytics and user tracking?

Our company is trying to implement Pendo, but we've found that when a user opens the help system, Pendo's user ID doesn't travel into Flare. This means two things: 1. The user is now anonymous in the help system, so we can't track ...

Sounds like you have a good use case for it at this point.

I also agree with your comment at the end about keeping styles together. I usually edit my stylesheet manually, but occasionally I'll use Flare's built-in editor--especially for MadCap specific styles. Keeping like styles together helps ...
