Re: Is Git and merging broken in Flare?

Sorry, I can't help with this, but just wanted to say that this is driving me insane (well, more than I am already!)
From what I have experienced, it is more likely to happen if the branches being merged are a long way out of sync... but until I get to a fixed known point (usually a release) I don't ...

Not experienced your exact problem, but I know that my Flare 2019 crashes maybe 3-4 times a week, and 9 out of 10 of those crashes are git-integration related...

Capitalization of output files

Hi, all,
I'm having an issue with my Flare 2019 HTML5 output... the capitalization is different between some of my source and the output files.

When I check all my files locally, as they are on a Windows10 machine, this is not a problem - everything works as expected.

However, after publishing ...

Previous/Next buttons not working

Hi, all,
In my Flare 2019 TopNav project, I have Previous and Next buttons defined in a TopicToolBar skin, which is inserted in each topic via the masterpage.

When I build my project locally and then view from Chrome, these buttons do exactly what I want for every topic (except 2, but that is ...

Re: Modify stop words list for HTML5 output

JRtechw,
Sounds interesting...
I didn't see it mentioned in your post, but what "three stop words" did you add that stripped lots of your junk results? (If they worked so well for you, they might work equally well for others...)
Thanks

Search weirdness

Hi, all,
I have a Flare HTML5/TopNav doc portal, and I'm trying to improve the search results by adding keywords and making sure industry terms are used in the text etc.
(I'm using the Search term feedback from Google Analytics to see what terms customers are searching for!)

However, one search ...

Re: @media print tables issues

Many thanks, ChoccieMuffin, that has certainly helped! (The <p> tags are now restrained within the column!)

Still can't get the table widths to play nice, but it is a big improvement!

@media print tables issues

Hi, all,
I'm successfully generating some HTML5 Top Nav output, and on-screen, all appears just how I want it.

Issue 1
However, if I open a topic with tables, and then use the MadCap Print button to print, the tables in the printed output seem to disobey all width-related styling!

In my stylesheet ...

Re: Search results page header

Hi, Chris,
Yes, I have a separate search results topic that uses the search results proxy.

My issue is that when I'm using the HTML5 output, all my pages are consistently using the header I set up in my HTML5 - Top Nav skin except for the search results page.

(Although it is similar, when I first ...

SOLVED!
The following syntax works:

background-color: rgba(255, 245, 238, 0.5);
}

Search results page header

Hi,
In my HTML5 TopNav output, when you carry out a search, the search results page has a different header to the rest of the site. (It uses a different logo - most likely the very first one I used when "learning" Flare, and has a different height than the header on all other pages.)

Any ...

Navigation buttons not working in Ubuntu/Chrome

Hi, all,
Having handed my HTML5 Top Nav docs portal to my QA team, they took a look at it from several platforms...

One item of weirdness they noticed is that the default toolbar "Previous topic/Next topic" buttons do not work from Ubuntu/Chrome, but on Windows, they do exactly what they should ...

Hi, atomdocs,

Thanks

Does Flare understand RGBa?

Hi,

I'm trying to use RGBa to give me a "semi-transparent" background that does not also impact the child elements (ie. I want a faded background, WITHOUT fading the text on top of it)

I can use RGB to specify solid colors in my stylesheet:
{background: rgb(255 250 240);}
This works as I'd ...

Mobile view on HTML5 Responsive output

Hi, I've set up a very simple project with the HTML5 Top Nav output.

I have found a method that "hopefully" anchors the footer to beneath the text (Footer only shows on the home page). This method is based around the info from https://matthewjamestaylor.com/bottom-footer .

When I test the mobile ...

Re: Top Nav output - different page widths

You can also set the max-width of the header in the skin. Is that what you are looking for?
It was the "max-width" setting in the header area of the skin that I had been playing with.
However, for some reason, it was set to <xx>ems... and I was seeing differences in header widths between the home ...

I put the analytics code in a snippet, then put that in the body of the master page(s). I can confirm analytics="" works in this arrangement.

Re: Google Analytics woes...

many people encounter issues with async vs async="" because of the strictness of XHTML.

From my experiences, it also seems strange that the level of strictness varies depending on where you use the code...

Top Nav output - different page widths

OK, its time for another "stoopid Newbie question..."

Re: Google Analytics woes...

OK, I've managed to solve it!

Its all to do with the strictness of how Flare checks the javascript. Flare sees "<script async src...> as invalid.

If I change this to "<script async ="" src...> the individual topics see it as OK, but the master pages still don't understand it.

Edit that line to ...

Hi,
New to Flare, so please be gentle!

I can get the breadcrumbs in the right ...
