Re: Error with Encapsulated Postscript Graphic Files
@Dan Lynbarger Thanks for the tip on this! I was tearing my hair out trying to get EPS working for my colleague. I should have known it was a dependency version issue, I have to document enough of them for our own products.

Re: Confirm process for merging topics
The step where you go into the Properties for the TOC item is probably not necessary (I think?), because it's just a display issue. If the title of Page 1 (for example) has updated, Flare should account for that when it builds the output. But just double check that assertion, I don't do a lot with ...

Hmmm, very strange. If you remove the table and just replace it with some paragraphs, will those appear in the output?

General troubleshooting for something like this:
Move the topic around in the TOC and see if it still happens
Change the content in the topic file and see if it still happens
Create a copy of the topic, put it in the TOC and see if it still happens with the copy

Re: Automatic TOC number update on conditional tagging
Can you explain a bit more about how your TOC and topics are set up in Flare? For example:
Are you using autonumbering to generate those numbers, or have you typed them in manually?
Are the numbers set in the topic headings, or somewhere else?
Do you have a single TOC for all of your outputs ...

Re: BKM - Track changes for pdfs so user sees what changes d
I've had a go at this for our situation, where we send all our documents to an external organisation who need to know what we have changed.
I first thought we could use a PDF compare tool on the output to highlight changes in the text. This didn't work out very well. Some PDF tools compare the ...

Re: Published project - lost top Nav/layout a mess when view
I think there's a misunderstanding here. The Index.htm file is just a normal topic file in your project (presumably your index). If you move it to the top level after publishing, it will break all of the links to the skin, TOC, etc, so when you open that page it can't load all of the assets.
The ...

Re: Imported files appear to be unlinked (but are still link
I definitely share that first problem in at least one of my projects... Don't know the cause - however, I've been able to reapply the import links by force importing all of the files. Try importing all files from the global project or deleting the child copies of those files and reimporting them.

@RobSwanson You shouldn't need to open the particular file that's broken, you can run the issues report for the entire project from the Analysis ribbon.

I think the easiest way to do that would be to use the topic preview window, which should resolve all of the variables and snippets for just that topic (quicker than building output).

Re: Line height when using ::marker
Oh wait, it just occurred to me that the line height will control the space between individual lines in the same block (i.e. when the one li runs over several lines). You probably actually want to increase the margin or padding around the li - have you given that a go yet?

You're not applying line-height to the ::marker selector, are you? I think you'd need to apply it to the li selector.

Re: Change GIT repository
I think that you would need to move the Flare projects from the old repository to the new repository in the source control provider itself, delete the local projects on your PC, then reimport the projects from the new repository. Maybe there's another way I'm not thinking of, but that seems the ...

Re: How to turn off Messages pane
To elaborate on what others have said, the easiest way I've found is this: position the messages pane at the bottom of the window and make it as small as you like, so it doesn't cover anything important. Click the pin button to dock it there. When the message pane opens, it will cover your other ...

Re: Topics can get incorrectly included in HTML5 output
From Flare's point of view, I suspect that this is just down to the order in which it builds the output. I imagine that the builder decides which topics to include BEFORE it applies the conditions within the topics (so it doesn't have to apply conditions in every topic in the project before it ...

Re: Generate Contents list with no content?
Ooh, interesting question. I *think* you might actually be able to get away with this. Create a medium in your stylesheet that marks all styles in the project (paragraphs, headings, etc) as display: none. It will also have to mark the p.TOC1 etc styles (as well as any other styles that you actually ...

Re: Imported topics don't display without relinking in TOC
Yeah, it looks like the link has got messed up somehow. Maybe in part of the import process Flare has tried to 'correct' the links in TOCB, and so given it a relative link. What do those two links look like in the TOC files in Flare? i.e. Open TOC B, select a topic that works and check the Link in ...

Re: Importing Flare project with images
Probably the topic is coming through, but the images themselves are still in the parent project so the links are broken. To bring the images too, open the import file and either add them to the Include Files (e.g. *.png, or whatever format your images are), or enable Auto-include Linked Files.

That dialogue box with warnings is suspicious... It makes me suspect that you are using global project linking. If you edited the stylesheet in the child project, it could still be overwritten by the old version in the global project.

Re: Highlight spans in Flare, but not in output
Maybe you could add a medium (called Internal or similar) to your stylesheet, and set colours on the styles using that medium only. When you're editing in Flare, you can view that medium to see the colours, but the medium wouldn't be associated with any outputs so it won't be seen when you publish.
