Re: x-ref to page influencing the whole paragraph in MS WORD
Can you paste the HTML code of that paragraph in the topic? It looks like the last half of the line is inside the underline formatting from the xref.

Re: Files imported from Confluence excluded from PDF
Ooh, I can see how that would cause a problem. The thead causes all the rows to be repeated on each new page in the PDF, so if the table was longer than a single page you'd get an endless repeat... I assume Flare cut the document off in self defence!

Re: Files imported from Confluence excluded from PDF
This happens sometimes when there's one topic which the builder doesn't like for some reason. Try removing Topic 20 or 21 from the TOC and building to see if the whole thing is completed. If so, that's where your problem is.

If you're on Flare 2020, you can also use the 'Find Elements' feature to search for that particular style class!

You will want to look at the page layout: probably your body page layout has a header element with the offending text.

Re: Templates
I imagine no, because a template is something you add when you create a topic. It gives you a starting point for adding your content - it doesn't really make sense to try and add a new template later after you've changed the original. Flare doesn't automatically know what to do with the new content ...

Re: Convert all Variables to Text
I think that you can't use the Find Elements search for this - you will have to use the Find Text search. As ChoccieMuffin said, you can search for <MadCap:variable name="MyVariableSet.MyVariable" /> with Find in Source Code enabled, and replace each instance of the variable with the required text ...

I'm not certain about the volume number, although I have a feeling it's something to do with the option to produce multiple PDFs/word outputs when you generate output (based on chapter breaks in the TOC).

Re: Flare adding gitignore to .gitignore file
Flare has always done that - it's a little unclear from how the text is phrased, but all of the files/directories in both lists are being ignored (some, like the Analyzer, for very good reason). The difference seems to be whether the .gitignore is placed in the lower panel or in the middle one, but ...

Re: PowerPoint to Flare
So I had a similar issue and came up with a similar solution for a one-off import (it was more manual than yours but got the job done). I actually attempted to single-source it by creating a 'powerpoint' in Flare. Essentially I had one target that produced a monitor-sized/fullscreen PDF with only ...

Re: Display an icon at the top of a topic
Similar to the <div> idea, I suspect that you could create specific topic <body> styles which include the desired icons. When you add a new topic, you can set the style class of the body tag to the appropriate region, or leave it as default if it is generic information.

Re: Margins in MadCap vs Spacing in WORD output
Various thoughts:
Check the padding settings as well as the margin settings on the li. Easiest way to see the behaviour is to add a 1px red border to the li, which will divide the padding and the margin. Not sure whether that will come through to Word output.

Re: Cleaning out Webworks junk
It sounds like you could do something clever with the Find/Replace here - you might need to use Wildcards, a Regular Expression or the new Elements feature to bulk find the bits you want. The trick here is that 'replacing' with an empty field just deletes the string that you found.

Re: Git repos with multiple projects - supported by Git bind
Hi Ed, unfortunately the Flare integration with Git will only work if the repo contains a single Flare project. This caused a lot of issues for us when we were first getting the binding set up, so I would advise you not to attempt it.

I can either delete that table/td formatting, or ...

Styling the Text in Code Snippets
Has anybody worked out how to style the text in a code snippet for PDF and Word output yet? It doesn't seem like I can affect the font family and size from the MadCap|codeSnippetBody for PDF output (although, oddly, I CAN affect the font weight).

I had this problem with nested lists as well. This mostly happened when I configured the lists in a way that was not what Flare expected.
This will cause collapse:

Re: TOC Links in PDF Output Not Working
Hmm, then I'm stumped. I think I understand why the Print Table of Contents would convert the topic link into a bookmark - the topic doesn't exist any more, so it needs to link to the point where the heading is. But I have no idea why the link itself is failing to jump you to the heading. What ...

Re: TOC Links in PDF Output Not Working
It probably has nothing to do with the label - the print table of contents doesn't actually care what the TOC label is (it uses the topic heading for the text). I think the problem is that the TOC Link itself is trying to link to a bookmark in the topic that doesn't exist, while you actually want it ...

Re: Specific text in footer
My general approach for this sort of thing is to use a variable for the topic TITLE (i.e. html <title> tags) rather than the heading. If you put a title variable in the footer of a PDF, the PDF will use the title of the first topic for every footer in the document.
