So, responsive layout does actually work in the output if the web browser supports it, but Flare doesn't like it and throws an error. So you can use it fine if you can find a way to ignore or work around the error.
The native Flare way of doing columns like that is Responsive Layouts: https://help ...

Re: How to move files in the Content Explorer
For my personal practice, obviously it's nice to be able to find topics in the Content Explorer using good folder/file organisation, but it's not necessary because Flare provides the excellent "Find in Explorer" button. To find a specific topic I'll typically find it in the TOC and jump to it from ...

Re: Setting word hyphenation on specific columns of a table
Hmm, on re-read my suggestion is best for the entire table, but probably can't be narrowed down to specific columns - they're not really proper items with descendants in the HTML. ChoccieMuffin's option might work better for this specific problem!

ChoccieMuffin's response is perfect for someone who is just learning CSS - I have another suggestion for when you're feeling more confident.

If the font is correct, possibly you don't have it installed on your PC - make sure you install it for all users, then close and re-open Flare. Hopefully that should cause the style to display the correct characters.

Re: Create different output from single target
If I understand you correctly, you should be able to do this by setting the definitions in the variable file rather than in the target. You can add multiple alternative definitions and then in the target select which one you want to use - that would allow you to select the same definition in ...

I don't know anything about Linux really, but have you pulled open the Developer Tools to see what's going on in the webpage? See if there are any red errors popping up, or find the sidenav elements and see whether there's anything that might be making them not appear.

[Solved] Compiler Failed to Copy Temporary CHM File
I've had a problem and managed to solve it with the help of Flare technical support, so just logging my notes here for posterity (I've seen a couple of forum posts about this issue but none of them included a proper resolution or cause for the problem).

Re: location of images in skins
You can delete logos from a skin by opening the skin as text, then locating the "Resources" and deleting the ones that are no longer needed. There's a feature that is supposed to delete unused icons when the skin is saved, but I haven't found that very reliable.

Flare does have a feature that lets you set what style will be next when you press enter: https://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare2022/Content/Flare/Styles/Other-Features-Activities/Regular-Stylesheets/Styles/Setting-Next-Style.htm . It seems you'd have to set it on every block element in your ...

Addendum to the above - possibly this is not a problem for us because of my weird import file/source control setup, which I forgot about when writing the above post. See this forum convo: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=33896&p=145012#p145012

@doloremipsum - Does editing the import file (flimp) in a text editor to change the project path to a relative link work ok for you? I know the import file also stores the path of each individual file as a Source and AbsoluteSource, so do you not have to do any additional steps to manually edit ...

Re: Path link for Importing Project
That's a common trap! As you've observed, by default the import file uses an absolute link to a location in your drive instead of a relative link. However, you can easily replace this with a relative link - provided that the Flare projects have the same relative positions on all PCs.

Oh, yeah that would do it! Honestly I never would have imagined that you were working in the text editor, and as far as I know all of Flare's documentation refers to the XML editor context. Just goes to show that you shouldn't make assumptions about how other people use a piece of software.

Re: Snippet not selectable in toolbar
The only thing I can think of is if you clicked somewhere else (e.g. the content explorer or the TOC), then the topic you have open is de-focused and the toolbar will disable anything that can only be inserted in a topic.
Can you try selecting where you want the snippet to be and pressing CTRL + R?

Good thinking, but I have... 24GB of RAM apparently so that's probably not the issue. My HDD seems to also hit the recommended 7200rpm.
I'm not seeing any issues with Flare except for the slowdown, if that helps!
