Re: <p style="position: relative;"> crashes Flare
An update on this. It's not the "position: relative;" that's directly causing the problem. It's having both the 'relative' and 'absolute' position both enabled at the same time. If the enclosing paragraph is set to "position: relative" while the change bar image does not have position specified ...

<p style="position: relative;"> crashes Flare
I need to place change bars in front of specific lines in some of my PDF documents. The best way I've come up with so far is to place an image of a vertical line in the XML code and position it using left and top parameters. This requires that the image position be set to 'absolute' and the ...

Re: File path too long on new laptop
We've put the Flare projects on the local C: disk, bypassing OneDrive, and that's been working so we'll rely on git as the backup process.
Thanks for the suggestions.

File path too long on new laptop
My company recently issued me a new laptop with Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.19041 Build 19041. Since then I have had problems building a few of my Flare projects, getting "Build failed: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters ...

Re: Superscript in variables
True, that. I was hoping there was some sort of a workaround. Thanks though!Dave Lee wrote:The size and position of the ® symbol will depend entirely on the font you're using.
Unfortunately, variables are text only, so you can't apply inline formatting on characters inside a variable.

I've searched the forums a bit and didn't find a solution for this issue.

Re: Ruler not available for all rows in TableStyle
OK, so I understand the difference between a Ruler and a Separator now. The Ruler is the line that goes between two rows of the same pattern while the Separator is the line that goes after the last row of a particular pattern. Thanks for pointing me to the correct spot in the online help.

Re: Generating a list of headings in a single topic
The menu proxy is only listing the h1 and h2 headings, even though the Levels to Show is set to (all). I need the h3 headings to be listed. Any hints? Is there a way to show only the h3 heading text?
Thanks again.

I have a large project with many long topics. These long topics each contain up to a dozen or more h3 headings. I would like a list of links (cross references) to the h3 headings within a single topic at the top of the topic that contains those headings. Is there a way to do that automatically ...

I'm trying to force change bars to appear in specific places in my PDF output. I've tried various methods with images, spans with borders, things like that, but have not come up with a way to systematically place a change bar right where I want.

jeff,
I have a TOC file set up with the topics of interest that would be used by the target. I chose h6 because I don't have any headings lower than h4 anywhere else in the topics.

Maybe a silly question, but is there a way to go about duplicating content from one location to another without making a link to the original location?
