Re: Change header row within table?
I came up with a semi-solution by applying mc-heading-level: 2; to the row contents and then having the Level2: variable in the header. Not the exact solution I'm hoping for, but at least the reader will know which date they are looking at.

Change header row within table?
I have a long table in my PDF output. The table has a header row, set to repeat on each page. The table is divided into sections signifying different dates for the table content by a row that spans all seven columns of the table. There are eight of these rows throughout the table, each with a ...

Re: Can TOC entries retain inline formatting of linked-to headings?
I called MadCap Support and they confirmed that there is no way to retain the inline formatting of a heading in the TOC entries.
I'll probably put in a feature request. Anyone else interested in seeing that feature added, or is it just me?

Is there a way to get the entries in a PDF TOC to retain the inline formatting of the content to which it is linked? For example, if the heading is:

Re: Watermarks and images
That looks like a useful tip there, Alex, but my main problem is the watermark is either hidden by the image (Depth > Sink to Bottom) or it is covering the image (Depth > Float to Top). Is there a way to make the image translucent?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Watermarks and images
PDF output that contains many large images. I need a DRAFT watermark on each page. If I place an image of the word "DRAFT" in the page layout background, any image on a page will cover, sometimes completely, the word "DRAFT". I don't really want to use the "Repeat" setting, as having multiple ...

Re: Indestructible folder
Sadly, the Win 11 update fix was only temporary. I'm back to wasting way too much time waiting for the folder to be released by whatever is holding it.

Re: Word Target never completes build
I just ran into the same problem for the first time today and there was indeed a hidden dialog box concerning a Microsoft Word Security Notice that I would not have seen unless I minimized everything else. Once I closed that window, the build completed normally.

Inconsistent PDF export to Word styles
This is not directly Flare-related, but some of you may have experienced this problem and come up with an explanation/solution.

Controlling border position
In my PDF output, I need to indicate changes with a change bar and formatted text. The formatted text is easy and the change bar would be fairly straightforward if all content was positioned the same. Here is an example of the type of change I need to call out, the text added in the second column of ...

Re: Table rows disappear when making edits
Resurrecting this thread as I have seen similar behavior. Usually when the rows disappear, if I switch to Text Editor and then back to XML Editor the rows reappear. This is not always the case, however, and I have sent my project to MadCap Support but they have not found a solution. I can confirm ...

Re: Indestructible folder
Nita, that's a good observation and I did think about it at first, so I paused OneDrive syncing and when that didn't work, I moved the project completely out of the OneDrive folder into C:/Flare Projects. That didn't help either.

Re: Code Snippet window not accessible
Thanks for the input, but it's not a matter of the window being hidden off screen somewhere, it's that the window just doesn't work. Normally, in the Taskbar you can see a snapshot of the window that shows the contents, as in the attached screen shot, and when you select the preview, that window ...

Am I the only one who sees this? I click on Code Snippet on the Insert ribbon and and all I can see is that there is a new widow opened in the Task bar, behind the Flare icon. But that new window doesn't open when selected from the Task bar. I can't do anything in Flare until I close the Code ...

Re: Reusing a table using conditions
Snippet conditions are awesome. Once I figure out how to make a table a snippet, I'll probably go that route.
Thanks again.
[Apparently one just creates a snippet and then pastes in the table. Easy.]

Re: Reusing a table using conditions
Thanks for the input from both of you (and rob, your second option is what I'm trying to do), much appreciated.
How do I make individual table rows or the whole table into a snippet? Whenever I select either a row or the whole table, the Create Snippet option on the ribbon becomes inactive.

Reusing a table using conditions
I've inherited a PDF-output project. One of the topics has a long table that contains information about Product A, Product B, and Product C. I would like the output to look something like this:
Chapter 1: Stuff
Chapter 2: More stuff
Chapter 3: Product A table
Chapter 4: Product B table
Chapter 5 ...
