Hi Quadra,
Here's what I did: Under the WebHelp target's Advanced tab, I set the Master Page to Default.
Then, I made 4 different master pages:
A general one with breadcrumbs and a footer for most pages,
one without those for topics to be used only as topic-popups,
one for topics with mini ...

Re: Image with special captions
Yep, that's what I meant Lisa. I did make a separate master page for topic popups sans breadcrumbs and footers, and with size restrictions, which helped.

Thanks Lisa, you have confirmed what I was thinking I'd need to do. It's a balance between saving time now, and achieving maintainability going forward I think.
I actually made two projects. I have a "rough import" project where I pulled in all the source files, and an actual project where I'm ...

Re: Image with special captions
Interesting information on the callouts!
I solved this a different way in our app - I image-mapped the screencapture and put the label in the screen tip, and a description in a topic pop-up. I wish there were the option of putting a text pop-up in a mapped image.

Lisa, is there an official list of features that do not work when MOTW is enabled? I recall that it makes some options unavailable when it's used but I can't remember which ones.

The toolbar options are in the Skin editor.
Under Project Explorer>Skins, open your skin.
Find the WebHelp Toolbar tab on the left-hand list.
Check the Enable Custom Layout box.

Old HTML Help source files - caveats, dangers?
Hi all,
I'm trying to create a new WebHelp file out of a batch of source files for an HTML Help. The source files were created in 2001 and last updated in 2004; I do not know what tools were used to make them. I did import them, but looking under the hood at the code I see all sorts of unfamilar ...

Re: Adding space between Toolbar Icons
I too would love to see some good documentation on skin icons. We created a custom set, and had a time of it figuring out where they are pulled from. And, it seemed that all the default icons and every other icon we test-drove were pulled into the output to become unneeded baggage.

Hello Knowlegable Madcappers,

Hi Lisa,
That's what I was thinking of, #2 in my original post. And you are right, it will help when updating the system and adding topics, which will be an issue for us in about a year.

I had a similar struggle with the MiniTOC link content. There, it turns out that the text in the links could be formatted with the p.MiniTOC# styles. However, in the built topics after a mini-TOC link was visited it reverted to some type of a tag properties and I couldnt' get it to behave without ...

Re: Mini-TOC links different size after visited
Oh yeah, this is for WebHelp output only at this point. I won't be single-sourcing with this material for more than a year most likely. I've been doing layout entirely in Word and outputting to Acrobat PDF for years, and I'm looking forward to relegating Word to content authoring at most. But I'm ...

Thanks for coming to my aid yet again Lisa.

Mini-TOC links different size after visited
Hi there,
This is the last problem I have to solve before I can publish (I hope). I'm using the Mini-TOC proxies in select master pages. I changed the p.MiniTOC style to be blue and underlined so it looks like a link (before they were showing up as black with no line). Now, if the link is visited ...

Wow, that's some fancy ruler work! Thanks for the link Andrew.
For this case, I did just add a border to the div tag holding the content directly below, since it's just a one-time home page usage. But I will keep this new info in mind for future use!

Hi All,
I'm adding a ruler, the hr tag, to a topic. I tried making a class for that tag to change the color, but it is not showing up in the preview or output (Webhelp).
I'm not familiar with this tag. The Show Assorted Relevant Properties gave me the Border attributes to work with, so I set the ...

Nope, this is not print content, just a WebHelp at this point. I will be single-sourcing in the future though, and I'm trying to think ahead as I work on this project. (And I'm looking forward to taking a class some day too.)

Wow! And then I was able to add another image with a transparent background, in a P tag within the DIV, so I have three layers of graphics, with text appearing on top of the first two. Pretty neat!
