Re: Background gradient AND trasnparent image??
Hey!! I used a background image for the HTML page, which is a slice of gradient with a repeat applied. Then I wrapped my content in a DIV and applied the transparent-background picture as the background image for the DIV class. Pretty fun!!!

Re: Background gradient AND trasnparent image??
Okay, I can see where to add a background to an image, we can do the gradient as a slice with a repeat. But can we have this image with the background applied as a background to the topic, or does it need to be within the body tag? I need text to go on top of it. Is there something weird I can do ...

Background gradient AND trasnparent image??
Am I asking too much?
I am wondering if it is possible to have a topic background with a color gradient applied, and a transparent-background image in front of it. I'm guessing no?
Edited to add: to complicate matters, we'd like text and another logo to appear over that. Yeah, I know. I guess we'd ...

Re: Trying to create Note Table style
Sorry to cause confusion!
Two styles are needed:
One is a p class to set up the entire paragraph's font, background, borders, etc. Also here, you use the Autonumber option to add the text that you want to have at the beginning of each paragraph that uses this style. But, you have to create this ...

Re: Trying to create Note Table style
Hi Erica,
By coincidence, I am making a "Tip" paragraph style right now too, and want to have that first word bold and in a different color.
I'm doing this by making two new styles. One is a new paragraph class that will use the Autonumber feature in order to automatically put the word "Tip" at ...

Re: Search results and topic popups - best practices?
Oh thank you, I was hoping that would be an option! Now I'd better be careful though and make sure all the appropriate keywords are in the image-mapped topic instead somehow.

Search results and topic popups - best practices?
Hi all,
I have several places where a mapped images open topic popups. In the output when the Search is used, these topics are directly accessable. Since these topics aren't included in the TOC, this looks rather awkward. What are the "best practices" for this kind of thing?
Thanks much,
-Steph

Re: Paragraph breaks, hyphenation, etc.
If you look at your paragraph styles in the Advanced View of the stylesheet editor, and Show Property Groups, there are some Unclassified properties that may help here, such as mc-hyphenate and the ones that follow. I have not used these so I don't know how they will work with different output types.

Re: Changing font attributes for Mini-TOC entries?
Well, I thought I had it all working, but...
At first, the entries in the Mini-TOC appeared black and not underlined, then once the link was visited, they changed to purple and underlined. So, I used the p.MiniTOC1 class to make the text blue and underlined so it is clearly a link. At the same time ...

Changing font attributes for Mini-TOC entries?
I have made it this far:
My Mini-TOC is appearing in the right topic where I want it, and with the right content. In the MadCap:MiniTocProxy style, I took away the top border, and changed the margins and padding, the line height, the font family (serif), and the font size. All of the changes are ...

Re: BREAKING - MadCap Software To Become MadCap Softwear
I think that at these prices, the clothing is going to be a bargain for dieters, as long as the stylesheet remains editable.
Just imagine, shed those extra pounds and all you have to do is set the <pants> tag's waitsize attribute to your new measurement, I'm sure that there will be unit options ...

Re: Hanging paragraph style needed
I have an idea, but haven't tried it. What about making "Purpose" into an image, and using it for a bullet and setting its property to outside? Subsequent pargagraphs could have a class that sets the same indentation level but without the bullet list style. Maybe?

Do Title/Heading links update at output? On demand?
HI all,
I've been monkyeing with my topic first-headings and topic titles. I see that topic titles are used for the default TOC entries and the breadcrumb text, and topic first-headings are used as the text in a cross-reference link. BTW, I am not always using the first-heading as the default topic ...

Re: TD styles and every other style class
Thanks Lisa, that's exactly what I needed.
I did already run into the font sizing issue - I had the same generic class added both the td tag and the p tag, making the final text 80% of 80%! I have some cleaning up to do, but at least now know where the problem lies!!

Re: TD styles and every other style class
This really clears some things up for me as well - thank you!
Now, a best-practices question: for table cells with short entries, is it best to format the majority of the text content with a td class, and then apply spans where exceptions are needed?

Okay, now I have two master pages for my WebHelp output, one for most pages and a separate one without breadcrumbs for the home page, applied with a html class for that purpose.
The footer for both these master pages has our version number and copyright date. I put that info in a snippet, and put ...

Re: Topic footer - is it for print layout only?
So far, so good! Now, I have found MadCap | breadcrumbsProxy for formatting the breadcrumb text. However, does MadCap | pageFooter have anything to do with a WebHelp master page? Or, do I need to make regular paragraph and div classes to format the text in this Master Page footer?
Thanks much ...
