Thanks for all your help LTinker68.
This is the first time I have used the table styles as well. I had too many issues with tables in versions prior to 4.0, that I avoided table styles until now.
From the information you gave me, I was able to figure out that Flare picks up past settings on the ...

Re: Indented tables not keeping "autofit to window" setting
Ok, Thanks a lot. This worked. But it seems as though I have to make the changes to the code for the table in the internal text editor.
For example, in the TableStyle Editor, the table margins box lists the left, right, top, and bottom margins for the table. I changed the left margin to 31 pt, that ...

Re: Indented tables not keeping "autofit to window" setting
I set it using the table style sheet editor.
Here is some of the code that appears for a table when I insert it based on the table style:
<table style="width: 100%;border-collapse: collapse;caption-side: top;border-spacing: 0px 0px;margin-left: 31pt;margin-right: auto;">

Indented tables not keeping "autofit to window" setting
We have Flare 4.0 and are creating WebHelp output
We've created indented tables and want to keep the "auto fit to window" setting intact so that when users resize the output window, the text in the table wraps rather than disappearing from view.

I can't get it to work (using IE 6). Not sure if I am putting the code you recommend in the correct location. Re: Can table heading rows repeat when printed?
Do you mean that table heading rows will only repeat if you are using printed doc output such as Word or FrameMaker? They won't repeat if a user prints the topic from within online help (WebHelp or HTML Help)?

Re: Can table heading rows repeat when printed?
Looking into this further, Flare says that "When a table requires multiple pages in output, the header row is repeated by default at the top of each page. Each <thead> tag must have at least one <tr> tag within it, which is used to represent a single row."

Thanks for all the info Pete. It resulted in a jog to my memory. Many years ago at another company, we worked in vain, trying these fixes with an icon strip. Unfortunately, we could never get them to work because of all the issues with abosolute/relative paths and so on. Guess those issues all still ...

Well, that stinks. I've submitted enhancement requests for both items.
Do you know whether the default TOC icons for the compiled HTML Help are stored in a location somewhere that I could just replace with my own icons?

I am experiencing the same thing in Flare version 4.0. My skin is set up with "Plus/minus squares" and "Lines from root" both checked for the TOC, but they do not appear in the generated WebHelp output.

skin button label appearing on top of icon
I am modifying a skin (Flare version 4.0). When I enter text for a toolbar button label, and then generate the Help, the label appears on top of the toolbar icon. For example, the label "Print" overlays the Print toolbar icon that I have rather than beneath the icon.

I now have Flare version 4.0.
I can't believe it - this functionality has still NOT been added to the product for this release!

Kevin,
Is there a way to indent a table from the interface using Flare 3.1? (rather than from the code)?

Thanks for the info. The bug I submitted yesterday (case #5419) resulted in Madcap's tech support department submitting the defect as a suggestive feature for future Flare versions. They were able to reproduce the bug and said:

They don't appear for me in the stylesheet editor. There are some generic styles at the top of the styles listed in Flare's Stylesheet Editor(like BODY), but that is it. Did you select something other than "Show All Styles" in order to display them?

Re: list styles appearing in the paragraph style dropdown list
A quick test of your suggestion looks like it works. You still have to toggle the Bullet List icon in the toolbar to see the various lists, but a style defined without a "p" or an "li" before the period will appear in both lists. Thanks for the tip.

I have not tested it, but the following statement is made in the Madcap Flare Knowledgebase article Flare > XML Editor > XML1016-F - Use Custom Bullet Image :
Please Note: Custom bullet images will not be exported to Microsoft Word or FrameMaker.

Re: Changing bullet color
That's why we had previously used customized graphic images for the bullet symbols. (The bullet circles were various colors.)
