Text outside of paragraph tags
Why doesn't Flare give a warning when there's text outside of paragraph tags?
For example, we have two unordered lists, and between them, there's a line of text that introduces the second list. This is material that we received from previous people, btw.
The only reason we found it was that the ...

Re: PDFOutput
Never mind. I found the problem.
The document that the H5s were in started with an H4. But looking at the TOC, it's a logical H5, which makes the H5s logical H6s. And since we had that checkbox checked, and we don't have an H6 style, it used the Flare default font.

PDFOutput
I have a stylesheet where I'm using different H1-H5 styles in PDF. I have the target set to PDFOutput under Advanced. The section of the stylesheet starts with medium PDFOutput. When I preview a topic from the TOC in that target, the styles are correct (I made H5 red just to make it easier to see if ...

Body running under the footer
I'm having a problem where the bottom of my topics are getting cut off by the footer. For example, I have this at the end of a topic:

And what I get in the HTML output is this:
weboutput.png
I've lost an entire line and a half.
This is what the body of the master page looks like ...

adding a text header to the lefthand sidebar menu
Is there any way for me to add text above the menu in the sidebar in HTML? I don't want to add it in the top header, because it will make the top header too tall and reduce the reading area. But I have several documents with a standard top header, and I'd like to put the name of the product above ...

Re: mini-TOC levels are inconsistent
So if we want the same behavior in print and web, we have to put in two mini-TOCs and condition them? Seems like a bug to me.

mini-TOC levels are inconsistent
When I insert a mini-TOC proxy, I set the TOC depth to one more than the header level of the topic (I only have one header level in each topic).

Re: Different location for search bar on landing page and internal pages
Thanks! But I notice that when I add a search bar proxy, what shows up isn't just the search box, but a bulleted "All Files" that isn't in my code. How do I suppress that?

Different location for search bar on landing page and internal pages
We want to be able to make our landing page have a large search field in the center, sort of like Google, but have it up on the header bar for every other page.
The issue is that apparently, the location of the search is determined by the skin, and the skin is a target-level setting.
Is there a ...

Cannot integrate Git.exe with Flare
According to this page https://help.madcapsoftware.com/lingo11r3/Content/Lingo/Source-Control/Git/Other-Activities/Using-Git-Windows.htm, I should be able to click on "Get Git for Windows", install it, and the "Get Git for Windows" link will go away.

Re: Cross-Reference Links Changing "&" to "&"
You'd have to ask the people at https://attack.mitre.org/ . Our product uses their stuff, and we have no choice in what we call it.
Since the only fix would seem to be a coding one for Flare, is there a way I can submit it as a bug to them? I can even give them the number of the previous bug as a ...

Snippets, MicroContent, and Conditional Headers
I have content that I want to be available as microcontent. I also want to reuse it. So I want to make it into a snippet. But because the snippet could be at different header levels in different places, I don't want to include the header in the snippet. But I do want to have the header showing in ...

Re: Can't sync (or push or pull) to/from Git
Cloning the project with Git Desktop solved everything. Thanks!
I would recommend that you clone the repo using Git Bash/Command Line into a folder in your Flare Projects folder, then open that copy of the project as a new project. This is how I do it.

Re: Can't sync (or push or pull) to/from Git
Thanks, Alex. Is Git for Windows the same thing as Git Desktop? Because I have Git Desktop installed, and it doesn't have the options you mentioned.

Can't sync (or push or pull) to/from Git
I have a new installation of Flare 2024 r2. I went to New and chose Open from Source Control. It let me bring in the project that's on Github.
Then I made changes. I committed them to the local repo, and then I tried synching. It gave me this error:
