Re: Use Lingo even if translator uses something else?

Hi,

About 1 year ago I created a document named Infologic Translation Instructions .

In the Introduction I wrote:
Infologic Nederland B.V. uses single sourcing to provide customers with documentation.
Single sourcing means writing a piece of text (topic) that can be reused for different kinds of ...

Re: Is anyone reading the help?

Well, let me add also something.
We have years of experience now.
What my company does is more or less educating the customers.
Some customers often come with questions to us and when it is in the documentation, we don't give the answer. We just tell them in which topic of the WebHelp or what page ...

Re: Mimic dialogs all display with horizontally truncated text

Hi,

Just to let you know that I am working with Mimic since beginning this year and I have never seen these problems.
Maybe it is indeed because of the evaluation copy but I can't remember these problems during this time.

Success with your decision.

Scroll behaviour in XML Editor irritating

Every time using the scrollbar in the XML Editor, the text does not move synchronously with the scrollbar position. Only when I release the scrollbar the text jumps to the correct position. This is very irritating.

What is causing this behaviour? Or, better, is there a solution?

Trajectory inherits from previous frame

I am more or less a newb on Mimic

When I set a trajectory in a frame and I set another one in the next frame, it does not matter how I change one of them.
Every time the change will applied to both the trajectories.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of that.

Re: Index keywords in Word output

The "nonsense" you're seeing is a function of Word, not of Flare.

That is not quite true.
I am still working with Word 2007 and before I start generating the output I checked the display options in word and the check box 'hidden text' was cleared.
But as soon as I generate the output and ceck it ...

Ghost window with Flare 8

Every time when I start up a sort of 'ghost window' pops up in the left top corner of my desktop.
Not to worry about but irritating:

Re: Unable to insert multimedia file - don't understand warning

I did get the same kind of error. My graphical card was crashed and I was just publishing a Flare project. At a certain moment I powered off the PC and installed a new graphical card.
Then this message appeared.

Our network administrator helped me out, but had to dig very deep. Happily he was able ...

I hope this will help. I have been busy with this kind of stuff the last weeks as my company changed the house style:

1. Select Styles --> TocEntry --> Font --> Color
2. Select Styles --> AccordionItem --> Color - BackgroundGradient - BackgroundGradientHover and maybe also Borders

Re: Design or Organization advice sought

I think it is better to use conditions.
Also to rows of a table you can apply one or more conditions.
In the output of the different documents you can exclude the conditions for the rows you don't want to have in a specific document.

Re: getting a topic from project A to display in project B

You could use global linking.
It may be a good idea to rename the file name of these topics with some logical preceding characters. That makes setting up the import file easier.
The only thing for you to do is to run the import file again if you change these topics in Project A.

Re: Global Project Linking - Help with Template issues

Hi Jennifer,

In the source I have a few condition tags set.
Only Print Only and Screen Only.
Advise: Make a very little test project to try. If it works out, make a good plan about what you put in the global linking source.

Re: Image Distortion in Web Output

Hi Jennifer,

I suppose that you are aware of the fact that you can set the picture to automatic?
I do that a lot. Especially when I create webtraining.
First I resize the picture to a size I roughly want to have (the handle at the bottom-right)
Then I edit the picture and most of the times I set ...

I did it by using a single row table with borders.
In the cells you can set the alignment.
In the page layout you can distinguish left - right.

Thanks Lisa,

Yes, I am aware of an do use that now and then.
But it are different projects in this case and I cannot put it in one project, because the training project has a lot of different stuff from other projects.

Copy images using External Resources with .props files

The last time I create webtraining next to webhelp in different projects.
I create the images with Capture.
I do use the images in training as well as webhelp.
When I first create the webhelp and then the training (or vice versa) I use External Resources to copy the images but without keeping them ...

Ok, create a line
Right-click on it and you can indeed select Rotate.

But ...... it doesn't work at all! (at least at my place).
