Re: Image not in Word2007 Heading

Hi Bob,

Thanks. But I think that's not the problem.
I know exactly how to deal with embedded or linked images. See http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7611 where I suggested solutions for some problems with it.
I mean, the issue appears when I open the document in the publish ...

Maybe I misunderstand you, but you can set FTP in your Destination file and publish your stuff to it.

Image not in Word2007 Heading

When I publish my project to MS Word 2007 (with extension docx in Output file) the image in the heading is disappeared, although when I open the document in the Output directory (that is, when using View document after building), it is ok.
When I publish to MS Word 2003 it is no problem ...

Re: Using Flare for Something OTHER than Online Help?

Hi Kevin

1) The testers and the TW sit down and determine what all the tests are.
2) The TW writes a detailed test plan
3) The TW and testers review the test plan and update as appropriate
4) When the testers identify a new test scenario, they submit it to the TW
5) Repeat from step 2 for the ...

Re: Using Flare for Something OTHER than Online Help?

Thanks Ramon,

The tester gets the Word Output at my place.
Suppose there is the document: tooltotest_sv2.3_r1.doc
sv2.3 = software version 2.3
r1 = document release 1

Let us say Peter Jansen executes the tests. Normally he only puts a cross in Passed or Failed and if needed he writes some comment ...

Re: Using Flare for Something OTHER than Online Help?

And .... what do you think about functional test documents.
I use Flare for that purpose since a while.
Test documents maybe built up of dozens of small topics.
Example:
stp-preparations.png
stp-actions.png
The advantage is especially with global linking, where you can put common used STP ...

Re: Preview topic with bookmark in PDF output crashes Flare

Hi Gary,

Back again.
I discovered something important regarding the Preview.
The PDF output was set as Primary output and then Flare crashes (It makes no difference if the editor is set to Layout (Web) or Layout (Print)).
But, if I set the Primary output to the WebHelp output Flare doesn't crash ...

Yes, I am using Adobe Acrobat version 9.

So, the only difference is the OS.

Re: Pictures in dropdown text breaking across page

Yes Gary,

A nice tip, because the issue is not only valid for dropdown text, but also for blockquotes.
I just put an empty paragraph in front with the smallest font possible.
Indeed a very simple work-around. Possibly it has something to do with orphans and widows not good functioning?

Re: Preview topic with bookmark in PDF output crashes Flare

Hi Gary,

Create a new TOC.
Add two topics to this TOC. Topic #1 should be the topic with the bookmark. Topic #2 should be the topic with the hyperlink.
Set properties for the items in the TOC (e.g. set the page layouts).
Create a new target for PDF output.
Configure the new target to use the new ...

Thanks for replying Gary,

Preview topic with bookmark in PDF output crashes Flare

I am creating a document to be compiled to a PDF output.
I can preview a topic, but as soon as I create a hyperlink to a bookmark in another topic Flare crashes.
Normal compiling the project is ok.

Re: How to avoid that a style changes after pressing ENTER

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for comment.
Yes, I know the SHIFT+ENTER, but sometimes I also need a list within the table and in that case.
Besides that, what happens is that columns can differ from each other which doesn't looke nice:

Watch the padding!

In fact that's where we have ...

How to avoid that a style changes after pressing ENTER

Every time when a table is used each uses a certain style.
By default this will be th for headers and td for the other cells.
However, at the moment that you add a new line in a cell, the style of the cell changes to p argraph style.
I don't like that, especially with the use of a special table ...

Re: Table stylesheet: where can we set row height

Hi Marie-Claire,
You might right-click again and then select Table Class --> Create Style Class
If you don't enter a name all your tables will change for the selected style.
If you enter a name, you have to assign that specific style class to each table (in your stylesheet it is added below table ...

Hi Marie-Claire,
You might right-click in the table and use the option Table Size. Then you can select the Reset Heigth option.
However, this one is valid for the complete table!

I think a lot of things can be improved in Capture, but I have also to break a lance for it. There are also many things I like (Especially the variables I can include and the recapture feature!). I use it every day and yes, sometimes I need SnagIt.

Re: How do I get the chapter names in the header?

As far as I rembember you are working with PageLayouts, isn't it?
In that case, open the PageLayout and in the HeaderFrame insert a variable. The variable you insert has to be from the variable set 'Heading'. There you can choose one of the levels.

But ...... you have to assign that PageLayout to ...

Re: Stylesheets not available

I am not sure if this is the case in your situation, but most of the times (at least that was in my case) it has do to with the setting of the Master Stylesheet in the Project Properties. Espacially if you have the choice out of more than 1 stylesheet at this place.
