Re: Flare Import File

Hi Kevin,

It is in the new Flare4 release.
Maybe you can read the help topic:
Global Project Linking—Importing Files from Other Projects
Within this topic you find the paragraph:

'Add a Flare import file (Project>Import File>Add Flare Project Import File).
For more details on completing this ...

Re: Title Page

Thanks Brice,
I am still busy with it now.
On this moment I created a test project with the sample book which works good. Then I change things looking to the sample book and then create my own project stuff. So this looks like what you are telling me.
If I get the things right, I am sure Flare 4 is ...

Re: How to apply shading to a table cell?

Hi Carl,

I use it often and have no problems.
Therefore a stupid question, but ..... if you insert your table (which you created with your table style) did you set the "number of heading rows" in the tab Basic?
That's what happened to me one time.

Re: Image and Media Properties

Lisa,
You are correct, but I am a layman ( :D !). What I read in the Help:
Media Properties Dialog
This dialog is used to modify the appearance of an image that you have inserted (as well as anything with an object tag). The changes do not alter the actual image file; they simply modify the ...

Image and Media Properties

When I select an image and want to set left margin using the shortcut menu or CTRL+ALT+B, the margin is set in my WebHelp but not in my Word document.
I am using Flare 3.1
Did anyone experience this phenomenon?

Re: TABLE STYLES

After you have set up your table stylesheet, you might use the menu Format --> Cell(s) or Ctrl+Alt+B.
Then you can align you 1st line and 2nd line separately.
After doing this you can also create a snippet.
If you then need it, take the snippet, click on it and select convert to text. Ready.

I hope ...

Re: Table in List - A work around

I used the Make Paragraph Item:
TableFlareSettings2.jpg
And ... if you just create the table without any changes, it will be looking good in the WebHelp, but not in the printed documentation.
Give it a try and you will see that the table will be positioned completely left aligned in the Word ...

Re: Capture a Tooltip?

Lately someone of the forum drawed attention to SnagIt. I tried it and use it. I like that tool now very much.
One very positive feature:
You can capture the tooltip or a menu list, etc. SnagIt uses a delay and just picks up what you want. See http://www.snagIT9.com.

Re: Compiler (Internal Error) and tip

Yes Ramon, you are completely right, but .....
Our company delivers tools to customers and some of them use Vista (bwaahh) and as I can see, there will be more and more (just like in the past with the other OS).
My company decided that it's a good idea that I run everything on a Vista OS as I am ...

Table in List - A work around

If someone has a more clever solution, please tell me. Anyway, I wanted to share this with you in the forum.
I made the following work around.
In the following example I wanted to clear out something special and present in my WebHelp as well as my Printed Documentation.
You can see there is a part ...

Compiler (Internal Error) and tip

When I build my WebHelp it regarly happens that the process aborts. The error pops up and this is what happens:

Removing previously generated content...
Checking if auto-sync of any import file is needed...
Loading skin info...

Re: Chaps i think there's a need for a Really Good Flare book

Thank you!

That is a sound I like.
Reading the subjects in the current guides is one thing, but how to use it in practice and what you can do (tips and tricks) is another thing.

Maybe it is a good idea to write this book based on version 4 when all good stuff from Blaze is implemented.
A chapter ...

Re: BlogPost about Content Reuse in Flare, from MVP Doc_Guy

Thanks a lot for your great article Doc_Guy.
I have a tip, but maybe you are aware of it.

Talking about Conditions, I have also added 2 conditions, named Ready and Indexed.
I only use these with topics and books. It is my way to have an overview of the topics to be indexed and finished.
