Thanks Ramon. I did a test and it works when I add a bookmark and precede it in the path with #.
But can this be done with headings already there? These have spaces in them, which my bookmark did not. Because people may not know what a bookmark's name is or whether one is even there, my goal would ...

Re: How do you link to a specific place in a different topic
Does anybody know to link to a bookmarked place in a topic from OUTSIDE the webhelp? I can send someone a link to a topic, but I'd like to send them a link to a particular heading. Is this possible?
Thanks,
-Matt

Hi Chris,
Yes, floated right and yes, fixed height.
After reading your reply I set height to 'automatic' and tickety-boo...golden.
Thank you so much.

Re: first line of every topic breaks too early
The shortened line is definitely being caused by the image in the div. But the div is not in the header, it's in the body, above the breadcrumb and body proxies. I'd forgotten that. Adding an empty <p> above the proxies solved the shortening issue but caused havoc in other ways. Below is the html ...

Re: first line of every topic breaks too early
A possible cause? Here's the output.
Could the div in the header be having some kind of effect here? I notice that the line ends about where the Need Help image above starts, and this image is on every page.

Re: first line of every topic breaks too early
Hi Lydia,
My output is HTML5 Responsive.
It's just a <p> paragraph. There's no additional styling and that's why I'm asking. Obviously there's something about the <p> tag such that the first one in a topic is being shortened, but I don't know how that paragraph can be identifying itself as the ...

first line of every topic breaks too early
Hi folks,
I'm not sure when I first noticed this, but the first line of every topic in my output breaks about two inches earlier than every subsequent line. What is this? Anybody experience this and have a way to fix it? Do we think it's a bug?
Thanks,
-Matt

I just used the Related Links control, but I don't like it because I'd rather have the links visible.

control whether or not drop-downs are expanded by default
Hi,
I notice that some -- but not all -- of my drop-downs are open when I view my help output. I'd rather that they all be closed when the user first opens the help. Is there a setting that controls this? I didn't see anything in the drop-down styles and found nothing in the help.
Thanks,
-Matt

Keri,
I just copied the alert styles (note, tip, etc.) in Flare's online help and modified them with my own icons and color schemes. Here's what my "important" alert looks like in my output:

Here's the style for the class "p.important":

You'll see that there's a reply to this topic and then be disappointed that it's not an answer. I too am trying to learn my way around the Pulse admin. I noticed today that by default, users who register and create a profile are supposed to get a Daily Digest of Pulse activity (checkbox in ...

Re: Image won't position center in column
I guess you have to do that inline, then, right? You can't make a style to apply to images that way. Still, it's better than the proverbial Sharpe Stycke.
Thanks Kwag.

Image won't position center in column
I created an image class (img.centered) and gave the mc-float style a value of "center" for that class. The setting doesn't appear to do anything in IE or Firefox. The image shows up fine but it's flush left.
Any ideas? (Yes, I checked the medium.)

Re: Flare can't send Contributor pkgs by email
Problem here is that there's no support for 64-bit versions of Outlook in this Flare feature. I had 64-bit Office installed.
Solution: My IT department couldn't give me a compelling reason why we shouldn't retreat to the 32-bit version of Office (apparently you only need the 64-bit if you're a ...

I get an error when attempting to send a review package by email. The app then suggests I try saving the package and sending it outside of Flare, which is okay as a workaround but we'd rather use the workflow as it's intended. The error suggests that Flare thinks that MS Outlook is not the default ...

Thanks kwag. I had a look at a:visited and there's nothing set except the defaults (color, underline).

Hyperlinks and xrefs only work once per page visit
I just noticed that hyperlinks and xrefs are only working one time per visit to a page. I don't remember it being this way in olden days. I'm using the default hyperlink styles. Once clicked, the link is inactive (although hover still changes its color) until I nav away from that topic and come back ...

see also links include the currently viewed topic
I've built concept links into some topics so that I can take advantage of the "See Also" style help control. The See Also links work but any set of links to other topics includes the currently open topic. It seems suboptimal. I would want the list of links to be all the "other" topics that have that ...
