Re: Is Contrib floating license timeout configurable?

Hi Jen,
There is currently no way to configure or disable this timeout. A bug/feature request has been submitted. Here's the official okey-dokey from Madcap:

Thank you for contacting MadCap Software Technical Support.

Re: Toggling how TOC items click open

Ah. Found it at the right end of the topic toolbar in the TOC. Sort of where you'd expect to find it. (And I call myself a propellerhead...)

Toggling how TOC items click open

I seem to recall being able to change a setting somewhere so that I could click open a topic from the TOC without having to use the Ctrl key. Does anyone else remember that? Is that still a thing? Where is it? You could reverse the setting so that if you clicked on the topic it would open and if you ...

Re: Mismatch btw figs and bookmarks when new fig is added

Hi Nita,
Yes, it makes sense, and that's pretty much what I had come to as I sat pondering this. I'm lazy. I didn't want to spend the time to come up with unique bookmark names. I was hoping that a technological solution I had not yet considered would do the work for me. After all, they put a man on ...

Mismatch btw figs and bookmarks when new fig is added

Hi gang,
Here's the sitch: I have several figures in a topic, and I have bookmarks at those figures -- specifically in the figure caption for each one. I have cross-refs in the text that point to those bookmarks. When I add a new figure at the top of the topic -- specifically when I add a new line ...

Re: Strange lodger in my Pending Check-ins list

Hi Andy,
Although I prefer SVN by a mile, my stuff's actually in Team Foundation Server (TFS). Still, this is helpful. I'm sure TFS has a similar ignore function. I'll poke around. Thanks for the response!

Hi Andy,
I just saw this reply from you. Thanks for responding. When you say I should "unversion" a thing, you mean remove it from source control?

Re: Contributor: Review Package

You might have a look at what version of Office you're running.
I'm not fully certain because it's been a while, but I think I was getting this error when I tried to send packages via Outlook. If this is THAT error (I may be misremembering), it turned out I was running a 64-bit version of Outlook ...

Is Contrib floating license timeout configurable?

Hi folks,
I have one floating license of Contributor (6.0.0) that I haven't had occasion to use until now. I was firing it up to take a look at the interface and discovered that it has a timeout set so that if the user doesn't make any change for a while, the license gets pulled back into the bank ...

Re: Strange lodger in my Pending Check-ins list

I closed Flare, removed that Analyzer folder, then reopened Flare and the file is still there. And the folder is back, replaced immediately. I know how this game goes. I'm going to leave it alone. From your description it doesn't sound like it's harming anything. Thanks Paulie.

Strange lodger in my Pending Check-ins list

I used to select Check In All and when I was done checking in files my Pending Check-Ins list would be empty. Now there's always this one file associated with Analyzer, which I've never used, that doesn't go away. As far as I know it doesn't get checked in either. I don't know what it is or why it's ...

Re: Managing published URLs programmatically

Dave, at a minimum I'd like to be able to generate a sortable list of topic URLs. It took me about 15 mins to turn the XML sitemap with 46 htm items on it (and hundreds of images, which I don't care about) into an XLS file that I could sort alphabetically, and without all the xml <url> and <loc ...

Re: Managing published URLs programmatically

I thought I replied to this but my post didn't appear. The generated sitemap is strangely ordered, sort of alphabetically but not really, thus very difficult to find anything in.

Managing published URLs programmatically

Hi folks,
[update: edits for clarity]
Is there a way to extract from my Flare project a list of the published URLs of all my webhelp articles? I don't have a specific reason to think there is a way, except that it would be useful and cool and the Madcap gang is usually ahead of me in matters of ...

Nita,
I've just posted a separate issue about the new trouble I'm having. It probably has much to do with this. Maybe I'll see you over there. Mea culpa about hijacking this thread.

Padding not showing up in Word output

I have note/tip/warning styles whose padding settings are properly displayed in the webhelp but which the Word output seems to be ignoring. Has anybody else seen this? I have double-checked default/print medium, yes. The Word output does display margin settings, and I can add a border, even an ...

Re: WORD Output- Figure Captions

Nita, this worked for the Note style and so I replicated your fix in my Tip, Important and Warning styles as well.

I have to shut down now but Monday I will try to fix the Figure style using this method. As you can see above there is a bold tag in its autonumber setting (I also noted that the ...

Thanks Nita. The styles work fine in the webhelp, just to clarify. Maybe Word simply doesn't support that kind of tortured use of the autonumber arguments?

Re: WORD Output- Figure Captions

Re: WORD Output- Figure Captions

The autonumbering in my figure captions and note styles comes out funky in Word output. Here are examples of each:

Re: How do you link to a specific place in a different topic

Yeah, I fiddled around and it didn't take me long to remember that a heading does not have an anchor in it, at least not ab ovo, as it were. You have to create them. Thanks, Ramon.
