Using target properties as variables in page layouts
Flare 4.2 with PDF patch.
Is there any way to use Target properties as variables in page layouts?
I have one project from which I generate one single online WebHelp, and 3 different print guides (pdf). I would like to use the comments line of the print output Targets as title for my pdf documents ...

Re: wrapping PRE-tagged paragraphs
If you want to see how the browser interprets the different css files involved (yes, there are hidden css files in Madcap!) and you use Firefox, then you can install the Firebug add-on - http://getfirebug.com.
It has helped me tremendously in troubleshooting css issues!

How to move the local workspace of a project bound to TFS
Flare 4.2.
I've been working with Flare projects that are bound to Team Foundation Server for some time now, and everything works fine. But now I would like to move the local copy (or workspace or mapped project or whatever you call it :-) ) to another directory on my laptop. I tried different ...

Re: Auto number position outside head does not seem to work
Aha, I thought the offset number was the amount of free space between the numbering and the header text (Flare Helps says "You can provide space between the format and the content by using the "Offset" field."), but instead it's the space between the starting point of the numbers and the starting ...

And what would you set as style properties? The language tag (xml:lang="none") is not a css style thing...SteveS wrote:Seems like the trick is to make a generic style for .NotSpellCheck and apply it as you need it.

Re: Shortcut for adding conditions to a topic
Thanks, Marie-Claire, I'm sure this list will already help a lot.
I noticed there is a keyboard shortcut that pops up the topic properties box from within an open topic (Ctrl-Shift-P), and I'm able to select a condition using only keyboard clicks (allthough it takes 6 clicks, and the Conditions tab ...

Shortcut for adding conditions to a topic
I've been using conditions for a while, and use them (among other things) for marking topics as "Work in progress", "ready for review" or "Finished". This works great because by just looking at my content explorer tree, I get a quick overview of how many topics await review and how many I still have ...

Chris,

Double-click to open book in Webhelp
Does anyone know how to get books in the Webhelp TOC to only open on a double-click?
The problem is that I have content on the book level as well as on topic level, and I hate it when the whole chapter collapses only because I wanted to review the book-level topic,

Re: MiniTocProxy in v4 - FYI
I'm having the same troubles here: fighting with the new MiniTOC styles.
But I can't get them to work.
I now have these styles defined in my stylesheet (Styles.css):
a.MiniTOC1:link
{
text-decoration: none;
color: #009fce;
}
a.MiniToc1:hover
{
cursor: hand;

Re: Checking out one topic from TFS is not working in Flare 4
I triend about everything I could think of, and finally just removed the project from TFS, unbound it from source control in Flare, deleted my workspace from TFS and bound the project to source control again. That got it to work again.
Still don't know what went wrong though.

One note: We may be unusual in this, but we are also checking our output into TFS. Not sure this matters except that it has contributed to our issues with Flare-TFS integration because our output lives in an entirely different folder than our help source. We do this because our built product is ...

Checking out one topic from TFS is not working in Flare 4
Since I upgraded to Flare 4, the "Check out ..." action in the Source Control menu doesn't seem to work anymore.
In Flare everything looks OK: when I check out a topic I see a progress box appearing and disappearing, but when I check TFS afterwards the file is still checked in.

Project analysis failing after upgrade to Flare 4 - tip
Hi everyone,
I just upgraded to Flare 4 yesterday, but couldn't get the "Project Analysis" to work. When I opened an existing project it just sat there and said "no project". In the status bar appeared a message about "analyzer database version mismatch..." but nothing really happened.

I have a lot of sample code in a developer guide, and when I launch the spell checker it goes beserk over the pieces of code in my topics.
Is there a way to tell Flare to not spell-check paragraphs or divs with the "codesample" style?

no, none of the styles there seem to have an effect on the popup box. As I said before:

Any other suggestions?
