Re: Multi-level Lists
I got the complex selector method working, and it's an attractive option in the sense that I don't have to assign a class to every list item. The only thing it seems I have to give up (aside from the reference integrity that Lisa mentioned) is the ability to bold-face the numbers, which I strongly ...

Re: Renaming style classes
Thanks, Paul. It would help, except we don't have Analyzer, at least for now. I did regenerate the project with the checkbox for creating styles from inline formatting turned off, which helped tremendously to reduce the number of aberrant styles, which was the cause of that earlier email query.

Re: Renaming style classes
Good idea about the Change Notes, though currently I'm a lone operator on only one big project, so at least for now, I only have to protect against my own wayward changes.
I'll fiddle around with the F&R feature and hope to find it sufficient for most purposes.

Re: Multi-level Lists
Thanks, Dave. I'm new to CSS as well as Flare, so I would not have otherwise been aware of your method. I read through the linked post, and will at least give it a try, if only to learn about using complex selectors. If I can get the formatting to come out how I want with the right set of properties ...

Re: Multi-level Lists
Now here's my other issue. This project was generated from a Word document, where the name of my multi-level numbered list style was OuterNumberedList. So now I have an li.OuterNumberedList style in my style sheet as per the mapping of styles upon import, and all existing lists of this type were ...

Re: Multi-level Lists
For the record, I am using the outside-head setting for the mc-auto-number-position property. With any luck, this will work in Word, though we could just go straight to PDF assuming that all formatting comes out as expected and no additional tinkering is required in the output document.

Re: Renaming style classes
Thanks, Lisa. This issue seems in some ways related to another issue I raised in a query to Mike Hamilton, which is that there is no way in Flare to select a class in the StyleSheet Editor and have it tell you if that style is in use, and if so, select all those places in your project where it is ...

Re: Multi-level Lists
Thanks, Lisa. That took some doing, but I think I've got a working scheme. I created the following paragraph classes, with the mc-auto-number-format set as shown:
AutoNumberLevel1_Begin "{n=1}."
AutoNumberLevel1_Continue "{n+}."
AutoNumberLevel2_Begin "{ }{a=1}."
AutoNumberLevel2_Continue ...
AutoNumberLevel1_Begin "{n=1}."

AutoNumberLevel2_Begin "{ }{a=1}."
AutoNumberLevel2_Continue ...

Renaming style classes
I just noticed that if I rename a style class in the StyleSheet Editor, wherever that class was used still retains the old name, and the styling of that content reverts to some default for that tag type. Is this a bug? I really would not expect that to be the desired behavior.

Re: Multi-level Lists
Here are the three methods, and the result of each, after a considerable amount of effort and experimentation:
Using Indentation
This method gives me no control over the font style of the numbers, i.e. bold. There also appears to be no way to control the amount of indentation. And I still need ...

Multi-level Lists
I'm trying to come up with the best way to create multi-level lists in Flare. I need at least 3 levels, I want each level to be indented underneath its parent, and I want each level to use a different list style type, i.e numbers at level 1, lower alphas at level 2, and lower romans at level 3.

Re: Table STYLES vs Table Classes
I also cannot get those video demos to play. I tried on both my PC using the latest version of Windows Media Player with the GoToMeeting Codec installed, as well as on a Mac using the latest version of Flip4Mac, and both failed. Has anyone gotten these to run properly?
