Re: Build process does not list processing CSS for target Word
do you have the appropriate style medium set in your Word target properties? are the correct styles showing up in the Word doc, but you just don't see them in the build process log?

Re: Can't make empty pages work in PDF output
You can have 1 page layout with First, Left, Right, and Empty page types in it, so that when you apply that page layout to your chapter, it will use all the page types you created. here is the text from the flare help - http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare7/Content/Page_Layouts/About_Page_Layouts ...

Re: Still No Way to Align Bullet/Number with Its Text?
sometimes the preview is also different from the output, so be sure to check the output too. yes, it is annoying that sometimes the editor, preview, and output don't match, but it's really just the output that matters.

where are you seeing this dramatic difference? does it show up just in the flare editor, or only in the output? what kind of output?
have you made any adjustments at all to the ol, ul, or li style properties? does this happen in a sample/new project?

I'm pretty sure there are just multiple right-click menus and they can't be combined with any flare settings (but you can submit a feature request here - https://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx ). when i get the "dictionary" right-click menu, i just add the word (or fix it) and when i right ...

Re: Titles in TOC do not update when titles in topics change
The TOC title only uses the H1 setting when you originally create the TOC item. It will not update again automatically. it is just the way Flare is. you can submit a feature request here - https://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx

if you use a percentage-based font size in your CSS, your users should be able to adjust the size of their fonts in their browser. (ctrl, + or - in firefox)

Re: Autonumbering figures in PDF output
you may need a "series" label before your format. here is an excerpt from the Flare help - "Series labels are prefixes to a format (comprised of one or two letters and a colon) that provide a way to limit numbering sequences for different purposes. Although Flare includes H: in the list of available ...

do you have it set for your heading levels to inherit the toc depth level? it would change the h1 to h2 since they are subtopics.

I'm pretty sure this was fixed. here are the release notes.

i'm not sure why you would still have this problem though. are you using quotes "x" around your search word?

Re: WebHelp TOC Aligns with Selections
you could just make sure your toc names are short enough that the user won't have to scroll to see the titles. to me, it seems just as easy to scroll back/left when the screen shifts as it is to scroll right to see the whole name.

I think the only way to do this is to make the top level "book" not linked and move the topic with the parent-level content inside the book.

Re: What's your opinion about Contributor?
When I evaluated X-Edit, I determined that it was too complicated for my SMEs to learn just to review a document. I usually send them a Word version to mark up with changes highlighted/in a different color/tracked. I haven't tried Contributor, but it looks like it would be the same type of interface.

do you have the TOC item properties set correctly for those sections? make sure you pick the appropriate page layout (two column) and set the "end of left page" to disabled, and make sure the following section has continued numbering.

Re: Pagelayout indent issue
are you talking about the margins/padding for the header frame? it could be that your logo/image is pushing it over or there is white space around your logo that makes it look like the margin is different.
or, are you talking about the margins/padding for the body frame?

Re: Publishing changes spacing around breadcrumbs
what difference are seeing? the top padding and the right margin of the heading style? that may just be differences in browsers.
And yes, a network project viewed in IE without enabling MOTW may have some issues (with the security pop-ups) that don't show up in FF.
