Re: Changing the name of a project
Your developers (if it's a software company or something like that) would know, and I'm pretty sure you would know too. It doesn't come with Flare, but newer versions of Flare can interface with some source control systems.

Re: Changing the name of a project
The folder is nothing except a folder. You tried to rename "Copy of..."? If any files are linked anything in that folder, you'll have to update the links.

Re: Changing the name of a project
What were you trying to do?
Are you changing a project name (which is the name of the whole Flare document - ends in .flprj) or the topic name (ends in .htm)?

Did you ever try clicking on these links? The default of a clicked link is usually a different color (like purple).

I like when I know the answer to things and can help!
I think if you make it to 100 you'll be a Sr. Propeller Head. It took me almost a year to get to that level!

Re: One style sheetsheet to rule them all
Yes. You just have to save it to C:\Documents and Settings\myname\My Templates\StyleSheets
(create the last two folders if necessary)
Then, when you add a new stylesheet to your project, you can choose your "default" from the My Templates option.

Re: Selecting all topics in one condition
I found a solution for sorting by condition!
MadCap Support just informed me of a way to sort the File List by conditional tag!! (i've been searching forever, and it's very helpful when i put tags on topics that are complete, partly complete, etc.)

Another option would be saving new images to the same names as the existing ones so that they update automatically. (just make sure it still applies to that topic.)

Re: Search Accordian Tab the Default?
To make the search tab be the default:
1. Open the skin editor.
2. On the Basic tab, click Search in the Features box.
3. Click Make Default. (default) should display after Search.
I'm not sure about a link to the search pane.

Re: Select a word, delete - red square of death
I don't have a solution, but I have gotten these errors before and I think it just tried re-highlighting the word and it went away. I don't exactly remember why it got messed up, but if i just try again a few times it seems to fix itself.

In that case, you can double click on the ribbon (names of the tabs) and minimize it so you really forget it's there!KevinDAmery wrote:In other words, pretend the ribbon isn't there and build your own toolbar? (sorta like you would in Office 2003?)

I never knew that was an option anywhere. I just assumed you would have to type a heading in sentence or title caps depending on which way you wanted it.

M$ came up with the ribbon because they found out that most users didn't know how to find tools in Word 2003 and earlier--only experts could remember which menu they were in."

I use conditional tags at the topic level to do that. Right-click on a topic in the Content Explorer and click Properties. On the Conditional Text tab, choose a conditional tag (click the Edit Set button to add more tags).

Why does it matter if multiple skins are in the \Data folder if you're only referencing one in your target? I'm pretty sure users can't see your source files to know that other skins are saved there.

Re: WebHelp Skin Woes
1. Did you accidentally turn off the tool bar or remove all of the icons? That is on the WebHelp Toolbar tab of the skins stylesheet. My only other thought for this one would be maybe the logo you used to replace the MadCap logo is mostly white and too big so it covered up the whole toolbar.

Re: How do I get Flare to integrate into CVS?
I'm sorry you thought Flare integrated with CVS. I'm not sure if it says that somewhere (I started using Flare before it integrated with any source control, but it would have been nice if CVS integrated), but seriously, the manual process takes me less than a minute to do (for a project with about ...

Re: How do I get Flare to integrate into CVS?
I use CVS, but not directly from Flare. I just publish my projects to a specific directory, and then manually add/commit my files from there. I use TortoiseCVS, which makes it very easy (just a few right-clicks and my project is done).
