Re: Internal Error: Selected Default Topic does not exist

have you tried picking a new default start topic just to see if it is really a problem with the topic and not a problem with something else?

Other people have also noticed this, but i don't think there is a solution. it is a browser problem.

if you use the full path to the topic instead of just the map ID, it will open without the frame. for example,

Re: Link TOC entry to PDF

If you were making online output, you would save the PDFs in the Content folder, then drag them onto the TOC (similar to adding an html topic file to the TOC).
For print output, you have to manually add the PDFs after processing (using Adobe Acrobat - not Reader). You can add them to the TOC like ...

Re: Dash above TOC in WebHelp

i think it's a font size problem. if i double-click the "dash", i get a right-click menu option of "search google for 'contents'" or 'search' or 'glossary', like i would with any word i right-click on in firefox. look here for font sizes for the label for each accordion item.

Re: text overlapping image that has a float-right property

i don't think float properties work in print output (if it does for some, not consistently).
can you make a 2-column table instead? it could have a print-only condition if you want to keep the float for online help.

Re: Table footers

Does it have to be attached to the table? You can add a footer in the Page Layout that can display just on those pages.

Re: How to edit text in footer of a table split over two pages?

Can you access the footer if you change the medium and layout to online/web in the editor? sometimes it helps me to view my PDF topics in web/online mode because it doesn't break up over pages.

Re: importing word and folder contents

Your topics will sort based on what styles you chose to break the topics at. For example, I usually pick H1 and H2 to break up my topics. You choose the appropriate styles on the New Topic Styles tab of the Import editor. You can also set options in the Options tab for how long topics should be ...

I use conditions (without associating them to any target) to use the colors to sort my projects by status. You can also use the File Tagging option - http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare ... agging.htm

Re: Tidying up Styles - can't delete one

the p.TOC styles are used to make the print TOCs, and i think they are inherited from the MadCap stylesheet (that can only be edited post-processing, and would have to be done every time). if you didn't make any changes to it from the defaults, there shouldn't be a need to delete it. are you ...

Re: How to style the backgroundcolor of a bullet item?

are you using only webhelp/online output, or also word? word makes this type of formatting into a table, which makes it easier to see where the margins and padding come into play. it may be helpful (even if you're not doing word output) to output this topic to word to see if the highlighting is only ...

Re: Double-clicking TOC topic open Properties dialog

there is a button the TOC toolbar that toggles to opening the topic or the properties for the topic. it is the last button on the row (looks like a chapter/book with a cursor). you may have accidentally clicked that. make sure you reset your layout too (window > layout > reset)

In Windows Explorer, copy the file into the appropriate Content Explorer folder. You'll have to adjust the hyperlink in Flare, though.
