Re: Topic Doesn't Display in WebHelp Output
I think we need more information. The topic shows up in your TOC, search, and index, but if you click on it, nothing happens? what makes this topic different from any other ones? is it linked correctly in the TOC? can you open it normally in Flare (the xml editor)? was it visible in the past and ...

You should be able to just not choose an image from the stylesheet.

One output file
I know I've read about this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.
Are there any options for one output file besides .chm? Is there a pure java version help (not .html)?
Thanks!

You can put your stylesheet in (for WinXP) \My Documents\My Templates\StyleSheets so it will be available in Projects > Add Stylesheet and then the My Templates option.

Re: Importing From Word
Have you tried Project > Import File > Add MS Word Import File? They won't come in a certain directory structure, but they will each have their own TOC (and you can combine TOCs later easily).
Here's a link to good instructions for importing this way: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php ...

To open the stylesheet in a text editor:
1. In Flare, in the Content Explorer (press ctrl+J if it's not visible), open the Resources folder, then Stylesheets. Your stylesheet should be there (i think the default is Styles.css if you didn't make a new one).
2. Right-click on your stylesheet and ...

Don't listen to them!
Its all about change. I ran a presentation to my workgroup on my (own) laptop that runs Vista/ 2007. Such an outcry about the way its features fit our workflow we're now getting it installed on all the machines in our department. 2007 is different, but within a week you'll ...

Re: Cannot get TOC in Printed Output
I have a few suggestions (after looking at your project):
1 - the Chapter Titles in the topics say they are h1.Top_Header, but yes, I can't find that in your stylesheet. if you change the titles to h1, you should be ok in Word. Word automatically picks up h1, h2, h3, etc. by default for TOCs. (did ...

I create online help (WebHelp), but I've seen some good examples of online portfolios and websites made with Flare. Occasionally I export to Word or PDF.

Re: significant number of crashes
I noticed this with copying and pasting, but I don't do it that often, so it's not a huge problem for me. I think if you just copy/paste slower it is ok.

Kind of related to this:

Re: 2003 & 2007 in parallel & Flare
With Word 2007, you have the option to save as .doc (the Word 2003 format), so I don't think you really need both versions installed. But I do know that you need Word 2007 for the PDF option in Flare to work (from Word).

Re: Expand TOC by default
Another option I thought of was to not use any folders and just put all the "child" books on the first level. I think it would be ok considering how small you said the project was. Just clearly label the first topic as Introduction (and you can still make it open by default).

Re: Capture an Individual Button
You want just the image (and not any surrounding background)? You can use the Polygon (or oval) mode instead of Rectangle mode to crop, but if it were me, I'd probably use Photoshop.
I don't think Capture has a transparent background setting. See http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=18 ...
