Re: Flare 4.1 so far
Flare 4.1.19 seems stable to me (so far). The only problem I've encountered (and it's a good one) is that the bug fixes in 4.1 meant that I had to go back and undo all the workarounds I put in for 3.1!

I think this issue was addressed recently in the Printed Documentation part of the forum.

Just a thought, but before clicking the Break Link button in the Links dialog, try clicking Update Now first. (I'm guessing.)

Re: Image Map Moves Things Around on Compile?
FWIW, I too have had cursor problems with .NET applications (not just Flare) and multiple monitors. Googling the problem doesn't bring back many results, so I've tended to assume that it's related to my ancient (> 3 years) hardware.

Flare's ability to resize graphics
Am I alone in thinking that Flare's ability to generate resized copies of scaled graphics - unavoidably in the case of PDF and XPS targets - is a bit poor? Flare's help insists that this produces "better quality images" but that's not been my experience. What do other users think?

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
Hi Adrian
Good question. When Flare builds WebHelp AIR, it obviously outputs the WebHelp and then calls AIR to package it. By default, the AIR package is output to a subfolder of Flare's usual Output folder, and I think it's this subfolder that Richard is suggesting I need to delete before ...

Re: CSS "page-break-before: avoid" property for images?
Although you would have to create a p.result_keep class since you couldn't have the "result" and the "keep" classes on the same tag. At least I don't think you can -- can't say as though I've ever tried it.

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
OK, I just tried rebuilding the WebHelp AIR file I successfully built last week.
And it failed.
Since last week I've upgraded to the latest version of AIR (from 1.1.0.5790 to 1.5.0.7220), which may be a clue.
So I uninstalled AIR 1.5 and reinstalled AIR 1.1.
Flare now generates WebHelp AIR again.

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
Hobbes, this is probably no comfort but IMO you're not missing very much. Flare just treats AIR as yet another browser in which to host WebHelp. There's no added functionality over WebHelp other than the ability to run wherever the AIR Runtime can run.
Woo.

Re: Rename ConditionTagSet: why is it that difficult?
We seem to be talking about two different things:
(1) Renaming an entire condition tag set
(2) Renaming individual tags within that set
As far as I am aware, (1) works just as you expect it to and (2) doesn't. I really can't understand why MadCap did the right thing with (1) but not (2).

So you're saying that selecting the Conditional Text set in the Project Organizer, pressing F2 and renaming the set doesn't work? I didn't know that.

Re: Breadcrumb trail contents
This question comes up so frequently on this forum that you have to wonder if the Flare Help needs updating to make it clearer, but I really can't see what the developers could do about it. The breadcrumb trail is generated at build time, not dynamically as you use the help. If you think about it ...

Re: Can you use CSH with WebHelp AIR target?
Re: AIR. I think Ramon is right about this. It's surely up to MadCap to develop a CSH API for their own application. At the moment all Flare is doing is using AIR as "just another browser" in which to host WebHelp.

Re: MadCap DITA Teaser Email
My impression from the screenshots and accompanying text is that Phase 1 will allow you to import DITA files into Flare, converting them into XHTML in the process. From there you can generate any of Flare's usual outputs, or generate DITA files again. (I wonder about the fidelity of this last step ...

Try setting the title of your AIR Help in the skin file (Basic tab, Caption field). Works for me.
