I've been using Flare with Subversion as its source control for years but today for the first time the Pending Check Ins pane is showing
FileSyncCache.mcspcache as Checked Out
FIleSyncCache.s3db as Pending Add
I have no idea what these files are or why they are suddenly needed?
TIA

Re: Search not working in HTML5 output/Flare 11
MadCap's regression testing seems patchy, at best. Flare 10 broke stuff in Flare 9 which is still, AFAIK, not fixed in Flare 11.

Re: mc-caption-repeat not working in Word target
Just tried a PDF target.
It works there.
Flare Help clear that it is supposed to work in all print outputs.
Looks like a bug?

mc-caption-repeat not working in Word target
I have Flare 10 and Word 2010.
mc-caption-repeat is simply not working in my tables. Tried using master pages and page layouts, but no difference.
Anyone else seeing this?

Flare 10 Word target is not indenting tables within lists
I seem to have discovered a serious bug in Flare 10 and I just wanted to check with you guys in case I'm missing something really obvious.
I have a project with Word target that I can build in Flare 10 and Flare 9.
In Flare 9, tables within lists (ordered or unordered) are indented as they should ...

Thanks Dave! That was both maddeningly obscure and blindingly obvious at the same time.

HTML5 Navigation Border Color
In their KnowledgeBase, MadCap have set a color to the border around the Navigation pane (so that it matches the selected tab color).
Does anyone know how they have done this?

Re: Constraining image sizes
Having read Dave's excellent response, I realise that I mis-read the original post as referring to HTML5 output. I thought Alan was unhappy about the size of the popup image even though it fitted within the topic.
Apologies.

Re: Constraining image sizes
Hi Alan, how's things?
I think you're screwed here. If you've looked at the output HTML you've no doubt noticed the data-mc-width and data-mc-height attributes that Flare has added to the img tag. Flare seems to have got this information directly from the image itself, and you've also probably ...

I'm trying to do this too, with no success so far. Can anyone provide updated instructions for Flare 10? Many thanks.
Or is there no way to do this in Flare, and I need to load an external skin.css?

Re: "mailto:" form not compiling in Flare 10
UPDATE
Finally got around to isolating this.
The form element works fine when directly present in a topic.
An identical form element causes a compile error if it is included in a topic via a snippet.
Seems like a bug to me.

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem?
We currently use a simple form with a mailto action to allow users to email us comments about the WebHelp.
To ensure the form is available from every topic it's included in the WebHelp's master page (although hidden until needed).

You are not missing anything - the Relationship Table Editor really is that poor. I've submitted feature requests to address the issues you mention, and urge you to do the same.

Re: Context-sensitive links to website output
If possible (it is not always possible) try to resist the situation in which you are telling the developers what the context IDs (aliases) are. This introduces a dependency between you and the code that you are better off without.
When it comes to context sensitivity, I always ask that each form ...

In fact the act of simply saving a layout in Flare 10 greatly eased the problem (PaneLayoutsWpf v.2 didn't exist until I did). Many thanks to Paul and Marjorie for your help.

Finally got round to installing Flare 10 alongside Flare 9. But now every time I open Flare 9, it forgets its window layout and has to be reset. Anyone else seen this, and have a workaround?

This may not help as I am generating CHM not PDF, but I had a similar problem and found using this CSS fixed it:
table td {word-wrap: break-word;}
YMMV

Hyperlink from one CHM to another
Is it possible to have a hyperlink in a topic in one CHM that opens a linked topic in another CHM, but in its own window (so, effectively, two CHMs open at once)?
I'd like to know before spending (wasting) a lot of time trying to get this to work.

Re: Images in Word output: a cycle of bugs
FWIW, we found that Word did a better job of resizing images than Flare does, so currently we don't embed or resize when we generate to Word. Instead we run a post-generation Word macro that embeds the images. It's not quite that simple, because of a Word bug that forgets image sizes when embedding ...
