Check your stylesheet, too, and make sure you didn't set a width or height value on the <img> tag.

Re: Adding a new Word file to a project
You can import multiple Word docs into one project. You can either select multiple Word files and import them using one MS Word import file, or you can create an import file for each Word file. It doesn't matter if you import the Word files immediately after creating the project or if you create the ...

Re: Page swap, or maybe auto-save?
Does your project reside on your local computer or on a network shared drive? If it's on a network drive then network traffic may be slowing you down. And if you're running a program like Photoshop where you can specify the amount of RAM is claims, then you may need to lower the default amount.

You should try to only use <strong> or <em> tags for ad hoc formatting, where you just want a particular word to have emphasis.

Re: Word importing + tables
When I import my Word document no errors are presented, but no topics are created for anything that follows the first table encountered.
Do you have headers separating the content in the document?

I've gotten that message before, too, but I can't remember what causes it. When you try to indent, are you selecting text or do you just have the cursor flashing on the line with nothing selected? If you have selected text, then you may have inadvertently grabbed the end tag of the previous line ...

Well, technically, Flare does recognize the display: none property -- in online output. Word doesn't use display settings like that. I believe you could set text to be hidden, but that's not a CSS element. It's similar to a CSS element (display: none), but it's not actually a CSS element. I haven't ...

My intent was to shut off areas of the topic pages that look good in the HTML Help viewer but don't make any sense in a document that will be a series of pages.

A better solution would be to create print-only versions of the styles. Or create online-only and print-only styles instead of using the \"default\" style. If you create online-only then it goes into one \"medium\" in the stylesheet, and if you create print-only then it goes into another \"medium ...

If you are using the Indent and Outdent icons to move items in a list, will items in the second layer of a list still be on an li tag?

If you're not accessing the XML files from within Flare (and therefore it won't try to add its own schema code to the top of the page), then try creating a folder inside the Resources folder. I don't think the Resources folder is processed the same way that the topic files are processed. As a test ...

Haven't tried this (and I don't have Flare running to test it), but try setting the color on the <ul> tag to red and set the color on the <li> tag to black. Since <ul> versus <ol> specifies whether you're using a bullet versus a number, then the bullet style should be pulled from the <ul> tag and ...

I haven't played with the feature yet, but I remember reading about some new feature for setting up print styles for tables. You'll have to look in the Flare help for more info. Putting the colors in the stylesheet is fine (I also recommend it), but you're forgetting the part where you have to set the colors in the stylesheet. You have to click on the field to bring up the color chips, and this is what nsemple would like to populate with custom colors. So even if nsemple's ...

It kind of depends on how big the image is in relation to the text. If it's a relatively small icon, then you can do it by creating a custom <li> style and setting it to use an image for the bullet. When you're ready to use it in a topic, click on the list icon to go into a list, then click on the ...

I had to make sure that the p class had all necessary formats (such as page-break-before) by adding it using the internal text editor. The Style Editor (default view of the stylesheet) does not list these kinds of format settings for a p class.
