Re: Theoretical question: Images -- tables vs div tags?
One other thing to note is that some outputs don't play well with DIVs. Word, in particular, but PDF, too, although that depends on what you're trying to do with the DIV. Tables, however, work consistently across all outputs, so even though it's an "old" method, CSS-wise, it's also the most ...

OK... so there are 'paragraph' styles, and there are 'list' styles. So I just need to copy my note-text style so it shows up on both lists, paragraph and list.

And where the heck is Blockquote?
I only skimmed this topic, so someone might have answered this, but when you click the Indent button and the "Create Group" screen appears, there should be a blockquote listed in there that you click on to insert a blockquote (you'll also see DIV as an option). If ...

Re: Add Open Linked files icon to Quick Access Toolbar
I don't see an option for it in the ribbon, but you could always right-click on the topic in the Content Explorer and select View Links. That will open the Link Viewer in the pane on the right-side of the GUI (by default, at least). So you can always leave that view as an option in the right-hand ...

As an alternative method, I don't use the chapnum variable. I use formatting like the following:

h2 { mc-auto-number-format:'GH:{n}.{n+}' }
h3 { mc-auto-number-format:'GH:{n}.{n}.{n+}' }

Re: change page number between chapter breaks
I'm with Paul -- I thought it was children topics of a parent topic that were picked up by the mini-TOC. I always put my mini-TOC proxy in the topic that I use as the "chapter"/book, so it was always one and the same.

Re: Inserting Snippet in List
That's the actual XML structure view, as opposed to the page code view. I don't have Flare open at the moment, but I believe in the toolbar just above the XML Editor there is something like a lowercase t or t+ that when clicked toggles back and forth from code view to XML structure view. Switch to ...

Re: crop marks break bar code
Is the crop mark overlapping the bar code? I can't imagine how that could be affecting the bar code unless it was overlapping the bar code. If you're trying to crop right next to the bar code, then it's possible that it's too close and it's overlapping the very edge of the bar code, and the crop ...

Re: Chapter information missing in chapter titles
How are you adding that part? Did you set up auto-numbering on your heading, or did you just set the TOC Properties to start a new chapter and number the chapter 1? If it's the latter, then that's not enough to add "Chapter 1" to the heading text. You need to also set up an auto-numbering format on ...

Re: change page number between chapter breaks
I don't think there's any need to use auto-numbers. Simply use the chapter break option in the TOC at the points where you want to change the page numbering format. If you're worried that it will screw up the {chapnum} variable used in auto-numbers and cross-references, then you can manually specify ...

Re: Huge annoyance when using split screen TEXT/XML
There are arguments both sides of this. Yes, it's an annoyance, but on the other hand, it was probably designed that way to make sure you saw the problem before moving away from that line of the code. So having it flash at the top of the screen isn't a big deal, although if you hand-code often then ...

Re: change page number between chapter breaks
I believe you have to use either a chapter break or a page layout break at the point where you want the page numbering to change. So try it with a page layout break, even if you're using the same page layout. So where you want it to start with "page i", you set a chapter or page layout break ...

Just out of curiosity, if you apply the bold to the first word, then apply bold to the second word, does it work as it should? In other words, <b>Checklist</b> <b>Number</b>? Re: Image Map - Edit Blue Border
A hotspot on an image map is a hyperlink, so it's probably inheriting the styles for hyperlinks. No, there's no way looking at the term to determine where it's located within the topic. You'd have to manually open each topic and see where the keywords fall and either delete them or move them to the top of the topic, if that's where you want them.

Re: Error- "Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I don't merge projects, but normally, if you build via the Flare GUI and it encounters a problem, you can look at the build error list and it will show the last topic or file that it was looking at. That might give you an idea of where the error is, or at least which file caused the problem. You ...

From what I understand, HTML5 as Flare defines it is not the same as HTML5 as the rest of the world uses it. So the question is whether you're talking about Flare's HTML5 (online output that's not in a frameset and has some other features), or the web standard HTML5?
If you're talking about Flare's ...
